Israeli Drone Carrying a Hand Grenade Falls

Saturday, 26 July 2025 The LAF Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: In light of the continued assaults and violations of national sovereignty by the Israeli enemy, on July 26, 2025, a drone from the Israeli enemy fell on the outskirts of Mays Al Jabal in Marjaeyoun area, carrying a hand grenade. A LAF patrol secured the area around the crash site, detonated the hand grenade, and transported the drone to the relevant unit for inspection and necessary action.

Sunday, 20 July 2025 The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: Various engineering and military vehicles belonging to the Israeli enemy crossed the technical fence and proceeded to carry out earthworks in the outskirts of the town of Rmeich – Bint Jbeil, in a blatant violation of Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement. In response, the LAF reinforced its deployment in the area to confront the enemy, and a patrol from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) arrived to document the violations, which forced the hostile forces to withdraw back into the occupied territory. The LAF Command continues to monitor developments at the southern border in coordination with UNIFIL.

Sunday, 13 July 2025 The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: A LAF unit supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, carried out a raid in the town of Btebiat – Upper Matn and arrested eight Lebanese citizens in addition to two non-Lebanese individuals for possession of firearms and a quantity of ammunition. Preliminary investigations revealed that they are not affiliated with any terrorist organizations. The seized items were handed over, and an investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.

In this context, the LAF Command confirms that it is in constant communication with the Syrian authorities and is taking the necessary security measures to control the borders and maintain stability, including conducting patrols and establishing observation points. The LAF also calls on the media to exercise caution in reporting news related to the situation at the border and to avoid publishing information that could create internal tension, urging them to refer to official LAF statements for accurate information. The arrested individuals were handed over to the competent judicial authorities.

LAF Patrol Comes Under Fire While Pursuing a Weapons and Drug Smuggler

Thursday, 26 June 2025 The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: On 26/6/2025, while a LAF unit, supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, was pursuing the citizen (M.N.) as he was smuggling a quantity of drugs, weapons, and military ammunition using a pickup truck near the Lebanese-Syrian border in Sharbin – Hermel, the suspect opened fire at the patrol members. They returned fire, resulting in the vehicle catching fire and the ammunition inside exploding, which also caused a blaze in the area. Civil Defense units worked to extinguish the fire. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the wanted individual.
