Cat rescued, four displaced from house fire in Loudoun County
LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. () — The Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal's Office (LCFR FMO) said an electrical malfunction sparked a house fire on Thursday morning, displacing a family and causing nearly a million dollars in damage.
At around 9:11 a.m. on March 6, crews responded to a two-story home in the 1600 block of Jonella Farm Drive. There, LCFR FMO said a significant fire was on the first and second floors.
After about 20 minutes, the bulk of the fire was extinguished.
Officials said the electrical malfunction started in the first-floor sunroom.

No one was home at the time, and neither firefighters nor members of the family were hurt.
A total of four people were displaced and the family's cat was found hiding in the debris.
The cat was cleaned and cared for before being reunited with its family. Unfortunately, the family dog is still missing.
Damages were estimated to be around $980,000.
