While The Bold and the Beautiful's Brooke Logan may be stuck in a repetitive cycle of romantic entanglements, her portrayer, Katherine Kelly Lang, is on a pathway of reinvention, taking on new and exciting roles and sharing her journey with her fans.
Lang was recently interviewed by L'Officiel magazine. The actress discussed what it was that made her feel the need to go on this journey of reinvention. Lang shared, 'I think reinvention isn't a single moment — it's a rhythm.' She continued, 'For me, it started subtly, years ago. When you've played a character like Brooke Logan for so long, you're constantly evolving, but the real shift came when I realized that I also had stories to tell outside the script.'
Lang has portrayed the role of Brooke Logan for the last 38 years on the CBS Daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. Where she remains one of two remaining original cast members, along with John McCook who plays her former father in law / ex-husband Eric Forrester.
The actress continued to explain how she felt, adding, 'Personally and professionally, I began craving more freedom: to explore, to create, and to grow beyond the image people thought they knew. Reinvention became less about changing who I was and more about reclaiming all the parts of me that had been waiting quietly in the wings.'
With this reinvention, Lang previously announced a new project, 'Beyond the Lens: Katherine Kelly Lang." Which is described as a short fashion film. Lang explained what she has planned for her future, sharing, 'I want to tell stories of reinvention of women who refuse to give up on themselves.' Continuing, 'Stories that don't shy away from complexity, aging, or truth. I hope my journey shows women that it's never too late to pivot, to dream bigger, to say 'yes' to themselves. We're not just here to survive, we're here to thrive.
Lang shared what the driving factor for making this reinvention, 'Curiosity. Passion. And this unshakable belief that women don't have to be just one thing.' Lang has taken on the role of producer and entrepreneur, she shared, 'I thrive when I'm building something — whether it's a character, a brand, or a new opportunity for myself or others. Reinvention isn't a career strategy for me, it's a way of life. I want to keep expanding, keep surprising myself. There's still so much more I want to do.'
