LRT service was brought to a standstill Wednesday afternoon due to a collision involving an ION train at Grand River Hospital Station in Kitchener.
Waterloo Regional Police were on scene investigating, with forensics and collision officers focused on the front bumper of the train.
Grand River Transit said ION trains were not running between Willis Way/Waterloo Public Square Station and Market Station. Service between Laurier-Waterloo Park and Willis Way, and Kitchener Market Station and Borden Station, were limited to one track in both directions.
Shuttle buses were also deployed to help passengers get between Laurier-Waterloo Park Station and Borden Station.
