Louisiana GATOR program applications available soon
BATON ROUGE, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – As Louisiana's school choice program prepares to accept applications, the state department of education has announced ways to contact the program specifically.
The Louisiana Department of Education announced that parents, schools, service providers, and the general public can access the LA GATOR Communications support as the program prepares to launch for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The program now has a webpage, call center, and email help desk to assist those who need it.
LA GATOR website will serve as a central hub for information about the state's school choice initiative, including eligibility requirements and prioritization guidelines, potential scholarship award amounts, sections specific to families, schools, and service providers, and an email sign-up link to stay informed.

The Louisiana Giving All True Opportunity to Rise (LA GATOR) Scholarship Program will open its application window for interested families on March 1, 2025. Families currently participating in the LSP Louisiana Scholarship Program will receive priority access to LA GATOR but must submit an application when the portal opens.
LA GATOR provides scholarship accounts for eligible students. Funds received can be used for: Nonpublic school tuition and fees, tutoring and educational therapies, textbooks and curricula, dual enrollment courses, and uniforms.
