Panasonic has launched two new full-frame mirrorless cameras to their LUMIX S series, the LUMIX S1II and LUMIX S1IIE. These new editions are designed for professional filmmakers and photographers who require smooth performance. The company claims that two new Lumix S series cameras offer great image quality, advanced video capabilities and dynamic colour reproduction for both photos and videos. The LUMIX S1II is made for videographers and photographers who require high performance and a diversity of lenses that can be attached to a camera body. The camera features a 24.1MP full-frame camera, a stacked CMOS sensor and Panasonic's new Venus Engine, which lets the device process and deliver good image quality. This camera is the LUMIX series' first camera that can support advanced video formats, which include 5.8K and 5.1K that shoot up to 60 fps. Also can record at 4K 120fps. This camera offers 15 stops of different V-Log at frame rates below 30 to enable high colour grading for cinema. The S1II, the fastest camera in the LUMIX series, provides blackout-free burst shooting for action and sports photography at a remarkable 70 frames per second using SH/SH PRE mode. Panasonic also added that multiple frame marker displays will be added in a future firmware update, increasing the accuracy and flexibility required for professional multi-platform production. This full-frame camera is designed for content creators who want to upgrade and produce higher-quality content. This camera features a 24.2 MP sensor that is inspired by its predecessor, LUMIX S5II, which can also record 6K at 30 fps open gate. Panasonic also introduced a 2.4:1 aspect ratio available at various frame rates extending up to 60 fps for widescreen videos. It is perfect for high-end colour grading operations since it provides more than 14 stops of dynamic range in V-Log. This camera also offers blackout-free shooting so you never miss a crucial moment. It can burst shoot up to 30 frames per second with the electronic shutter in SH/SH PRE mode and up to 10 frames per second with the mechanical shutter in H+ mode. Both models introduce an AI-enhanced Phase Hybrid Autofocus system that offers superior subject tracking with improved detection for eyes, faces, and fast-moving subjects. A new 'Urban Sports' AF mode, specifically developed to track complex and rapid movements accurately. The cameras boast an upgraded 8.0-stop in-body image stabilisation (B.I.S.) system, complemented by a new cropless Electronic Image Stabilisation (E.I.S.) that delivers distortion-free footage. The cameras also support ARRI LogC3, allowing for seamless integration into cinematic workflows, with compatibility for C4K 60p Apple ProRes RAW and HQ ProRes RAW. Both models feature a high-resolution 5.76M-dot EVF and a versatile 1.84M-dot tilt and free-angle LCD, providing flexible shooting angles for any scenario. Panasonic Introduces New Large-Aperture Standard Zoom Lens: LUMIX S 24-60mm F2.8 (S-E2460) Panasonic is pleased to expand its LUMIX lens lineup, with the introduction of the LUMIX S 24-60mm F2.8 (S-E2460), a new large-aperture standard zoom lens bult according to the L-Mount system standard. This new lens features a large F2.8 aperture throughout its versatile zoom range. Its unique compact and lightweight design enhances mobility, making it an ideal choice for dynamic landscape and architectural photography, at the 24mm wide-angle perspective, as well as for capturing beautifully bokeh-rich portraits at 60mm focal length. The Hybrid Zoom feature (*1), extends the zoom range up to 187mm (*2) for both photos and videos. The generous aperture of F2.8 provides high-resolution performance and exquisite bokeh across the zoom range, offering fast shutter speeds and minimizing subject blur even in low-light conditions. Through a carefully optimized lens configuration and a minimized filter diameter, the new lens achieves compactness and a light weight of 544g, with a total length of approximately 99.9mm. It also incorporates a recently developed Dual Phase Linear Moto and advanced optical encoder, resulting in high-speed, high-precision AF performance. Versatility is further boosted by an equipped focus button on the lens barrel, facilitating intuitive shooting and allowing customization of preferred features assigned to the button.
