WRJ Design Wins National Attention for Jackson Hole Home as "Ode to Art and Beauty"
LUXE honors design team with cover story featuring project inspired by the majestic Teton landscape, iconic modern architecture and a stunning blue-chip art collection JACKSON HOLE, Wyo., June 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — For WRJ Design, the project paired dream clients – worldly, visionary and invested in their home's creation story – with an incredible blue-chip art collection and the opportunity to collaborate at the highest level with Jackson, Wyoming-based CLB Architects, OSM Construction of Bozeman, Montana, and Jackson landscape architect Bonny Hershberger of HDLA. The resulting home has earned the honor of two separate May/June 2025 LUXE Interiors + Design covers – one on the magazine's national issue and one on its new Colorado + the Rockies regional edition – with a feature story on the project in both that dubs the project 'Poetic Nature,' a 'family legacy home [that] stands as an ode to art and beauty.' Situated on 35 acres of iconic Jackson Hole ranchland with Teton, Gros Ventre and Snake River range views, the architecture rests lightly on the land, meeting the homeowners' desire for a 'Frank Lloyd Wright meets the West' style suitable as both a permanent current residence for the couple and their four children and a timeless heritage estate for generations to come. A deeply personal art collection spanning more than 300 pieces informed both architecture and interiors. 'Every decision we made complements it,' says WRJ Design co-owner and design director Rush Jenkins, whose team on the project included design lead Sabrina Schreibeis and designer Ashton Horner. Jenkins drew on his early pre-WRJ career as director of design at Sotheby's New York to 'create interiors where furnishings and décor are in clear dialogue with the artworks, which draw you forward, with a surprise around every corner.' 'The home's palette is largely a master class of soothing neutrals, with select zings of color,' writes LUXE. 'This helps to accentuate that every object within is a study in craftsmanship selected as a worthy companion to the artwork.' At the same time, the home exemplifies WRJ Design's trademark ability to create luxurious bespoke interiors in a comfortable, unfussy way that lives up to the everyday demands of a busy and active family. 'These homeowners live with incredible examples of artisan craftsmanship and art,' says Jenkins, 'but they are presented in a non-precious way that invites lounging on the sofa, sharing cocktail hour with friends and traipsing in and out enjoying the incredible range of outdoor activities that Jackson Hole is famous for.' 'Maintaining a sense of harmony with an underlying focus on serenity is the very essence of this sophisticated home,' Jenkins tells LUXE. The sensibility is apparent in the primary bedroom, where two Bright Chair swivel loungers take in the unfolding meadow and mountain views, and layers of refined textures from the bed's velvet upholstery to linen Loro Piana drapes and the sheepskin atop the leather footboard bench engage the senses beneath another lighting-as-sculpture chandelier, this one by John Pomp Studios. Downstairs, Jenkins' 'surprise around every corner' approach to the art's presentation includes 'managing to seamlessly fold in standouts like a motorcycle-turned-sculpture,' writes LUXE of the vibrant teal antique Indian bike raised on a pedestal. In the end, 'Beautiful interiors are like an orchestra where each musician is singularly magnificent,' Jenkins tells the magazine. ''Come closer,' is what this house commands in a very quiet way.' About WRJ Design:Headquartered in Jackson, Wyoming, award-winning WRJ Design is known for a special brand of refined luxury that effortlessly marries the most sophisticated modern furnishings with historically rich, rustic and one-of-a-kind elements. With an ethos rooted in the extraordinary art and beauty discovered around the world and taking inspiration from the splendor of majestic natural landscapes, WRJ co-owners Rush Jenkins and Klaus Baer bring a spirit of collaboration – with homeowners as well as architects, contractors, landscape architects and remarkable artisans – to designing homes that honor and celebrate clients' life stories. WRJ's work has been featured in media including Architectural Digest, LUXE Interiors and Design, The New York Times, and House Beautiful and has won Home of the Year from Mountain Living four times in less than a decade. Their coffee-table book, 'Natural Elegance: Luxurious Mountain Living' (2019, Vendome), was published to wide acclaim and has undergone multiple printings. For more information visit

UAE: Make the most of this year's bonus with these tips and tricks
It's tempting to spend all your annual bonus on a dream vacation, some expensive jewellery, or even a new car. According to Zurich Life International, 75 per cent of UAE residents expect to receive a bonus this year, up from 68 per cent in 2024. But how much? David Denton-Cardew, head of propositions at Zurich International Life Middle East, said that expectations vary widely across the workforce, but one-third of respondents expect to receive a bonus exceeding Dh25,000. But before you start dreaming about where to spend it, you need to get practical. LUXE spoke to a handful of financial advisers and experts about the best places to put your bonus. 'While receiving a bonus is exciting, the temptation to splurge on a long list of desired purchases can be strong. That's why it's wise to have a plan in place before the bonus arrives, ensuring it is used effectively,' says Raji Kaippallil, a qualified financial adviser and millennial money expert. While it might not be as exciting as booking flights or searching Google for the latest luxury watches, advisers we spoke to agreed your starting point should be to look at the debts you might have. Carol Glynn, a personal finance coach at Conscious Finance Coaching, says: 'If you have high-interest debt such as credit card debt, paying that off first is a smart move. But if you're debt-free, there are many options to consider.' When it comes to the many options, you need to make sure you have an emergency fund or a cash cushion to put it another way. 'This is the one non-negotiable step I recommend for everyone, as it reduces everyday financial stress. Knowing you have a financial safety net provides a sense of security and calms your nervous system during periods of financial difficulty,' adds Glynn. As a rule of thumb, experts recommend putting aside three-to-six months of your average living expenses for the worst-case scenario, like losing your job, in an easy access savings account. When it comes to high-interest savings accounts, there are a few banks that currently pay 4.5 per cent and above on your money, such as FAB and Mashreq NEO bank. Check the terms and conditions as some savings accounts limit the amount of withdrawals you can make each month or require a minimum balance. However, high-interest savings accounts are not just for emergency funds. Financial experts recommend keeping your bonus in such accounts if you're saving for short-term goals such as building up a deposit to buy a house. Basically, we should all have a savings account to dip into if and when we need to. They offer convenience but the majority of them come with modest interest rates. 'While savings accounts are valuable for managing reserve cash, the returns are typically lower compared to other investment vehicles,' says Roberto D'Ambrosio, CEO of Axiory Global, a multi-asset brokerage. Investing D'Ambrosio suggests investment funds, as they offer the potential for higher returns, but they have a higher level of risk than cash accounts. When it comes to investment funds there are plenty to choose from depending on factors such as your attitude to risk, time horizon, and goals. These decisions are based on your personal circumstances. Investment funds come in all shapes and sizes, covering different geographies (Asia, North America, Europe and globally focused, for example) and different types of companies (technology, manufacturers, energy firms, etc). But if you are a first-time investor, then financial advisers normally suggest starting out with exchange traded funds (ETFs). They are designed to provide instant diversification to a range of different stocks at a low cost, and reduce your risk compared to picking individual stocks. 'Look for broad-market ETFs such as an S&P 500 ETF or a global index fund, which offer exposure to a wide range of companies,' suggests Glynn. Remco Coerman, international tax adviser and partner at SeventyTwoNinety, agrees. 'Start with broad ETFs. Learn about taxes and avoid chasing quick gains. Investing without knowledge is costly,' he says. And what about investing in local UAE companies? Graham Bentley, director of wealth at the Mosaic Group, says: 'If you're interested in local stocks, sectors such as real estate, banking, and energy may be worth considering. While investing in a local market might help you tap into the economy's growth, it's crucial to balance your portfolio by including international equities and other asset classes to spread your risk and reduce potential losses.' Start with a simple, long-term approach. Avoid chasing quick wins or high-risk investments that promise big returns but that you don't fully understand. If you don't understand an investment, you shouldn't put your money into it" Carol Glynn, Personal Finance Coach Younger generation Many young people are getting in on the investing habit, which contradicts the popular YOLO (You Only Live Once) short-term thinking many associate with younger generations. 'Younger generations in the UAE are displaying strong financial discipline,' observes Zurich's Denton-Cardew. Its survey shows that 31 per cent of Gen Z (18-24) plan to save their entire bonus, while 63 per cent of millennials (25-34) plan to save all or most of their bonus. 'This shift is likely shaped by key life events such as the pandemic and the inflationary crisis of the last two years,' he explains. Your bonus is a once-a-year lump sum, but this doesn't mean you should only be investing once a year. It's hard to find the 'perfect' moment to invest, so financial advisers recommend drip-feeding your money into the stock market regularly. This approach will smooth out fluctuations and encourages long-term thinking. 'Start with a simple, long-term approach. Avoid chasing quick wins or high-risk investments that promise big returns but that you don't fully understand. If you don't understand an investment, you shouldn't put your money into it," says Glynn. There are many financial influencers (finfluencers) on social media. But experts warn not to rely solely on someone else's advice. Instead, read books and articles, follow credible financial educators, and steer clear of get-rich-quick schemes. If you decide to work with an investment adviser, make sure you understand their fee structure. Find out how they are getting paid, and what impact their fees have on your investments. Spending It would be unrealistic to suggest anyone getting a bonus should save or invest it all. Kaippallil, the founder of financewithRaji, says: 'A personal rule I have followed over the years is to allocate 80 per cent of my bonus toward my future self, through saving or investing, while setting aside the remaining 20 per cent for present indulgences such as shopping, travel, or a relaxing massage.' Dubai is known for its luxury lifestyle and high-end living, but this costs money. But Glynn adds: 'Receiving a bonus means you've worked hard and achieved something, so it's important to celebrate that, not just plan for your future. If your finances are in good shape, set aside a portion for guilt-free spending.' Interestingly, the Zurich survey also found that more than half of residents (54 per cent) plan to launch their own business when they retire. This could be because they are not relying on their savings or pension to fund their golden years. Mosaic Group's Bentley said it's important to recognise the risks involved in entrepreneurship, especially if your retirement savings are tied up in the business. 'It's crucial to have a solid business plan, ensure you have enough capital to support both your business and personal financial needs, and fully understand the market you plan to enter.'
