River Cleanup-La Crosse is hitting its 32nd year this year, and they need your help
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The 32nd annual La Crosse River Clean Up is happening Saturday, May 10th from 8 am to noon. Organizers say the cleanup helps protect and preserve the waterways and shorelines in the community. They add that over 814,000 pounds of trash have been removed through cleanup efforts since they began in 1993. La Crosse River Clean Up Founder, Russell Wilson, explains, 'When you have a clean river, you can have more fun out there because you're not getting a cut foot or getting poked by something sharp. It also gives you more pride in the area that we live in. When there's a clean river, there's less garbage that tends to stay there.'
