Four juveniles arrested on allegations of LaPlace car burglaries

LAPLACE, La. (WGNO) — An investigation into a pair of vehicle burglaries in LaPlace, landed four juvenile suspects in deputy custody. The first burglary happened at 7:18 p.m. on June 29, a St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office deputy was called to the 500 block of Revere Drive on a report of an attempted theft of a Hyundai Elantra. Possible road rage leaves man dead in Kenner crash: KPD The car's owner told deputies that the Hyundai was locked and parked inside the complex lot at 11 p.m. on June 28. The next morning, they went out to find damage done to the steering column, ignition, headlamp control arm, wiring harness and steering wheel. A purse, with an estimated value of $500, was also missing. The second burglary happened in the same place on July 2 involving a Kia Rio. The Kia's owner told deputies that the vehicle was locked and parked around 12 a.m. but hours later at 7 a.m., a neighbor told them the window was broken. The owner found the back window shattered and the door slightly ajar. While nothing was reported missing, the deputy found that the plastic housing surrounding the key hole was broken and on the ground. Following the investigation, one suspect was arrested on July 3 and the other three on July 9.
