Report – Inter Milan & Fiorentina Negotiating €10M Transfer Of Young Striker

Inter Milan and Fiorentina are reportedly negotiating a deal for striker Sebastiano Esposito worth around €10 million. This according to today's print edition of Florence-based newspaper La Nazione, via FCInter1908. Advertisement Sebastiano Esposito is currently back at Inter Milan. The 22-year-old's loan with Empoli ended at the end of last season. And following relegation from Serie A, the Tuscan club did not exercise their purchase option in the player. Esposito was actually in the Inter starting eleven in Club World Cup group stage matches against Monterrey and Urawa Red Diamonds. A few clubs have shown an interest in signing Esposito. Advertisement However, it looks to be Fiorentina who are leading the race for the 22-year-old. La Nazione report that the Tuscan club are in regular contact with Inter about the player. They are ironing out a fee in negotiations. According to the newspaper, La Viola will sign Sebastiano Esposito for a fee of around €10 million.

The Tuscans have, however, been monitoring Fazzini and have been considering a move since mid-December. Now, with Empoli relegated to Serie B, and with not an enormous amount of competition from rival Serie A sides, Fiorentina have been able to get a deal done. The last details of Fazzini's move are expected to be a formality, and he is expected to become Fiorentina's first signing of the summer transfer window.

Francesco Farioli in line to take over at Fiorentina

After rumours of a possible departure for some time, Fiorentina have officially said goodbye to coach Raffaele Palladino and his technical staff. One of the most striking candidates mentioned to succeed Palladino is former Ajax coach Francesco Farioli. The 41-year-old Palladino leaves after just one season in Florence. The Tuscany side announced the news with a concise press release in which it was announced that the collaboration had ended 'by mutual agreement'. Advertisement At the beginning of this season, Palladino signed a contract until the summer of 2027. At the beginning of May, that contract was extended by another year, as Fiorentina activated a clause in the deal. It's been an extension that hasn't lasted long, and the club and the coach part ways just 25 days later. The Italian media are now speculating about La Viola's successor. Corriere dello Sport are pushing veteran Stefano Pioli forward. The current Al Nassr coach was already in charge of the group at Fiorentina (between 2017 and 2019) and is said to be open to a return to the Serie A. Daniele De Rossi, without a club since his dismissal at AS Roma, and Marco Baroni of Lazio are also mentioned. And then there is Francesco Farioli. The young Tuscan coach, who led Ajax to second place in the Eredivisie this season, was spotted in a restaurant in the centre of Florence on Thursday evening. Farioli has also been linked to Glasgow Rangers. GBeNeFN | Max Bradfield

Why Fiorentina were furious with Inter's controversial opener

Inter took the lead against Fiorentina in tonight's Serie A match through a Marin Pongracic own goal which was originally awarded to Lautaro Martinez, but La Viola were furious with the decision in the build-up that led to the Nerazzurri opener. You can see how the action unfolds on the Football Italia Liveblog. The two teams kicked off in San Siro just four days after Fiorentina beat Inter by a 3-0 score line in Tuscany. Seeking revenge, Simone Inzaghi's side were in control for most of the opening period, and had 80% of the possession 25 minutes in. The break-through eventually came from a corner kick, which initially went down as Lautaro Martinez's goal, but was later declared a Pongracic own goal. However, the fact that a corner was awarded in the first place infuriated the opposition. Bastoni had somehow managed to hook an attempted cross in from the byline, but Fiorentina were adamant that the whole ball had crossed the line. L'#Inter in vantaggio da calcio d'angolo. Il corner però nasce da questo cross di #Bastoni con il pallone che era ampiamente uscito. — Giuseppe Ferrante (@GiuFer1997) February 10, 2025 While goal-line technology is in play, the technology only covers the goalmouth and not the full byline, which means that referees do not receive an automatic signal if the ball has gone out of play for a goal-kick or corner. The rest of the first half between Inter and Fiorentina was not without its controversy. La Viola equalised through a Rolando Mandragora penalty, which was awarded for a handball by Matteo Darmian after a VAR review.

Napoli confident about signing Fiorentina's Pietro Comuzzo

Serie A league leaders Napoli are currently confident about the possibility of signing Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo. Talks were held between Napoli and the player's entourage and an offer was about to be made to La Viola. La Repubblica, as relayed by CN24, have reported that the player is keen to work under Antonio Conte, whose club will make an official offer today. They will offer €25 million plus bonuses of €5 million and it will be a two-year long loan with the obligation to buy him permanently. That is is slightly different to what was reported yesterday. As of now, Fiorentina want €35 million in the move, but Napoli are confident that the deal will go through. La Viola have signed Pablo Mari already and the feeling is that he will be a replacement for Comuzzo, who has come leaps and bounds this season in a short space of time. Kaustubh Pandey I GIFN
