Japan promotes sign language with new law ahead of Deaflympics

20 July 2025 09:54 TOKYO (AGENCIES)Japan's central and local governments are taking steps to promote the use of sign language under a new law, aiming to build momentum ahead of hosting the Deaflympics in law took effect on June 25 following the approval in parliament of legislation drafted by cross-party lawmakers.
