MBD Group's ‘Robotics Lab on Wheels' aims to take coding & STEM education in underprivileged schools across India
The MBD Group has launched a new initiative titled 'Robotics Lab on Wheels' that aims to take robotics and STEM education directly to students in underprivileged schools in urban and rural India. Member of Parliament Lahar Singh Siroya launched MBD Group's Robotics Lab on Wheels. Launched by the Ashok Malhotra Charitable Trust, the CSR arm of the MBD Group under its 'Love to learn by MBD' initiative, the van-mounted mobile lab is equipped to provide experiential, technology-enabled learning opportunities to schools that typically do not have such facilities and economic bandwidth, a statement issued by the organisation said. This initiative has been rolled out under Ashok Karya—a long-term social impact movement launched to honour the legacy of its founder Ashok Kumar Malhotra. The van can not only reach remote locations easily but also access schools in densely populated areas, thereby making cutting-edge STEM education accessible to every learner. There will be learning sessions in the school classrooms or activity areas, where a trained facilitator will conduct 24 interactive sessions over ten months, turning familiar spaces into hubs of innovation and collaboration, MDB Group informed. In addition, students will engage in five thoughtfully structured modules that begin with the fundamentals of robotics and move through advanced topics like IoT and automation. As the program ends, students will be assessed and certified - marking their first step into the world of future technologies. BJP leader accuses CM of spreading fake news on Covid-19 vaccines
Bengaluru: BJP MP Lahar Singh Siroya on Friday accused Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of spreading fake news with his recent remarks linking Covid-19 vaccines with a spate of heart attack deaths in the state's Hassan district, saying there is no vaccine against 'dissident' activities. The CM has suggested that the recent heart attack deaths in Hassan district may be linked to the vaccination drive. He also claimed the vaccines were 'hastily' approved. Taking a dig at Siddaramaiah, the BJP MP said that the Karnataka government has been speaking about tough legislation, including a seven-year jail term and fine, against the promotion and spread of fake news. 'At the rate at which Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been speaking, I think someone will register the first complaint against him for spreading #fakenews on #Covid vaccines. The Union government has already clarified on this issue,' he said in a post on 'X'. According to him, the Congress' effort is to demoralise the scientific community, which saved millions of lives during the pandemic. 'I hope someone in the Congress cautions him (Siddaramaiah). Perhaps there is nobody left to caution him because nobody in his own High Command or locally think his government will survive for long. There is no vaccine against dissident activities,' Siroya said in the post.

BJP MP Lahar Singh Says Karnataka CM Is Spreading Fake News on COVID Vaccines
BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Lahar Singh Siroya has criticised Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He said the CM is spreading fake news about COVID-19 vaccines. The Karnataka government recently said it plans to bring a new law to stop fake news. This law could send people to jail for up to 7 years and also fine them. Lahar Singh said that if the new law starts, the first complaint should be against the Chief Minister himself. He said the CM is giving wrong information, even after the central government already gave a clear answer about the vaccines. He also said that Congress is trying to make people lose trust in the scientists who worked hard during the pandemic. "These scientists saved many lives," Siroya said in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He added that maybe no one in Congress is warning the CM, because many do not believe this government will last long. He ended his message by saying, 'There is no vaccine for fights inside the party.' This comes as Karnataka is planning strict laws against fake news. The BJP is now asking if those laws will apply to leaders as well.

Drop fresh caste survey plan, Siroya tells Congress govt in Karnataka
BENGALURU: BJP MP Lahar Singh Siroya has said that the Congress government in the state should drop its plan to conduct a new caste survey and wait for the Union Government's census data. After discarding the survey conducted 10 years ago by spending nearly Rs 200 crore, the ruling Congress has decided to hold the new survey, he said. Apart from wasting public money, the new survey will lead to chaos. There will be two data -- one from old and another from the new survey. People may raise objections after comparing them. Each community will choose the survey that suits it the best. Thus, the very purpose of the survey would be lost, he said. The Union government will also release its census data later. All three surveys will have different data. The state government can help ensure social justice only by dropping its new survey plan, Siroya said.
