Lake Amon Carter and Selma Park closed due to floods caused by heavy rains
MONTAGUE COUNTY (KFDX/KJTL) — As of Monday, May 26, Lake Amon Carter and Selma Park are closed due to heavy rains and flooding.
According to a Facebook post made by the Emergency Communications Team of Montague County, due to heavy rains, the water levels rose to 922.1 feet as of 9 a.m. today.
The post states that this causes the lake levels to be two or more feet above full, which could cause flooding and electrical problems at the park.
The lake is closed for boating, and the park is closed for camping until the water levels drop back down below 922.0 feet.
