MAVI Goes Three for Three, Drops Third Track of 2025 Featuring Niontay
Summary MAVIis not playing around this year. As he continues to maneuver beyond the confines of the underground and more and more into the mainstream, the North Carolina rapper has revealed another needle-pushing collaboration that cements his ability to introduce the 'IYKYK' scene into modern hip hop. In partnership withNiontay,MAVI has lifted the veil on his third single of 2025, 'Jammer's Anonymous.' Also marking his third collaboration of the year, the cut follows up MAVI's 'Landgrab' withEarl Sweatshirtand 'Potluck' withSmino, which dropped in May and June, respectively. Stamping the first official collab between the Southern unit (Niontay hailing from Florida), 'Jammer's Anonymous' is rich with the rappers' conversational candor and contortionist wit and wordplay, dripping in hypnotic drawl and haze. Mav brings Tay out to his Charlotte hometown for the music video, the duo delivering the deadpan lyrics in front of a BMW E31. MAVI x Smino Serve Up Soulful "Potluck"
Summary MAVI's hot streak continues. The North Carolina rapper is showing no signs of slowing down this summer, keeping himself busy with both new music and vinyl re-releases, most recently unveiling a new edition of theshadowboxvinyl. His latest move? More new music that comes equipped with yet another big-name collaborator. Dubbed 'Potluck,' the sprawling, synth-infused cut marks MAVI's first-ever collaborative offering withSmino. 'Potluck' arrives on the heels of MAVI's latest link-up withEarl Sweatshirt, 'Landgrab,' which signaled the pair's first in-studio collaboration since 2019's 'EL TORO COMBO MEAL.' The just-over-two-and-a-half-minute 'Potluck' takes a similar tone to 'Landgrab,' with Mav and Smi passing the beat back and forth effortlessly to one another, making it seem like this is at least their fifth time working together. It's hard to believe it's just the first. MAVI handles the first verse and chorus, handing it over to Smino for the second. MAVI x Earl Sweatshirt Reconnect on "Landgrab"
Summary Earl Sweatshirthas cosignedMAVIa couple of times now, showing love to the rising North Carolina rapper in the form of featured verses and social media support of his solo releases. After teasing 'Landgrab' on socials throughout last week, Sweatshirt is getting back in the studio with MAVI for the pair's first collaboration in five years. 'Landgrab' – which clocks in at just a quick 1-minute-and-28-seconds – follows up the duo's 2019 track 'EL TORO COMBO MEAL' lifted off Earl'sFEET OF CLAYEP. The cut comes with production from Hollywood Cole and also marks MAVI's first studio release since 2024'sshadowboxalbum – as well as the first time MAVI has featured another rapper on his own track. The song also arrives with an official music video, which sees the two rappers exchanging bars in a greenhouse-resembling space, with the greenery forming the shape of the album's cover art.
