Bad cop to good cop: Jeremy Lindsay Taylor returns to Home And Away. And he's playing a copper AGAIN!

He was last seen in Summer Bay in 2016, playing corrupt cop Dylan Carter. Now, Jeremy Lindsay Taylor is returning to Home And Away, but this time he's playing a different character altogether — and he's on the right side of the law. Taylor joins as a regular cast member in episodes airing from May 28, playing Sergeant David Langham, the new sergeant at Yabbie Creek police station. His character is actually the estranged father of Lacey Miller (Sophea Pennington), who has been 'missing' for six months. He arrives in town with his other daughter, Jo, played by Maddison Brown, who will join him on-screen in the weeks to come. 'The three of them are all dealing with trauma, and trying to reconnect, but it's not going really well,' Taylor says of the strained family dynamic. 'Meanwhile, David is trying to find his way with the character of Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright), who has had a bit of a shady career, shall we say.' After nearly six months keeping the role under wraps, Taylor, who is based on New South Wales' South Coast, said he is thrilled to finally be able to speak about his return to the long-running series. 'It's been a whirlwind,' he said. 'It's very, very exciting. 'It's been a busy six months, and now (my episodes) are just about to come on air.' Taylor is no stranger to playing men in uniform, having been cast as police officers a handful of times over his more than two decades on screen, most recently in Seven's The Claremont Murders miniseries. 'I've played at least five or six cops in my career,' he said. 'But (Langham) is definitely my favourite. 'He's very by-the-book — they need that in Summer Bay!' It's a sentiment shared by Taylor's own mother.: 'Mum started watching the show when I got the job at the end of last year, and she's constantly texting me and saying, 'Hurry up and get to the Bay, Sarge — they need you! It's a hornet's nest of crime!'' he said. Taylor, who first found fame on the popular 90s series Heartbreak High (his new Home And Away co-star Ada Nicodemou also famously got her start on that show as well, though their time didn't overlap), said he is enjoying being back on set, meeting the new cast and reconnecting with some familiar faces. 'It's such a great, young cast, and the older cast is full of legends,' he said. 'The first scene I shot was at the coffee cart at Palm Beach, and it was with Irene (Lynne McGranger), Alf (Ray Meagher) and Leah (Nicodemou). 'That was one of those pinch me moments, to be like, 'Wow!' It made me really happy.' Away from the Bay, Taylor has also been developing his directing career, with two feature films, a mini-series, and a short film in the works. Despite his busy schedule, he's grateful for this new chapter in Summer Bay. 'It's an important show. It's about family, real life — I'm loving it,' he said. As Sergeant Langham steps into Summer Bay, fans can expect drama, emotion, and a much-needed moral compass. One thing's for sure — Taylor's return to the Bay is set to make waves.

The Langham, New York review: a stylish stay near the Empire State Building

If a luxury hotel in Manhattan can be called unassuming, then the Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue is a five-star candidate. While some hotels attempt to channel the city's frenetic energy, the Langham instead gently envelops guests with refined, neutral decor and warm, attentive service. The high-ceilinged lobby, enlivened by oversized paintings by artist Alex Katz and a sweeping staircase to the first-floor Ai Fiori restaurant, is staffed by doormen and front-desk employees who bring to mind those Manhattan apartment buildings where every resident is known by name as they whisk in and out of the lifts. The large guest rooms are a true oasis in a city where many hotel rooms are Lilliputian; along with high-end amenities, they draw devoted guests who return for repeat and multi-day stays. The 234 guest rooms and suites are some of the largest in the city, with the smallest rooms a generous 39 sq m; junior suites are double that. Spacious south-facing rooms and suites have vertiginous views of the Empire State Building soaring skyward. The soft greys of the plush carpet, the oatmeal club armchairs and the dark walnut furniture act as a sumptuous and discreet backdrop to the views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. The understated elegance continues in the oversized bathrooms with deep tubs and wide, marble-topped sinks. Many of the suites have kitchenettes and washer-dryers for longer 7/10 The bloom-filled restaurant Ai Fiori ('among the flowers') is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving Italian coastal fare and seafood pastas: don't miss the squid-ink trofie with Ligurian crustacean ragu and the blue crab and bottarga spaghetti. Bar Fiori doesn't require reservations and has a daily Martini Hour with a menu of martinis and small plates. The robust breakfast menu includes fresh, house-made pastries and American-style egg dishes — or you can stay in bed and order from the extensive 24-hour room service menu. • Read our full guide to New York• Best hotels in New York Score 9/10Book a club-level room or purchase entry (free for children aged under ten) to the superlative fourth-floor Langham Club. Guests can indulge in all-day complimentary meals and snacks, from oysters on ice to finger sandwiches, and grab-and-go options like yoghurt pots and sparkling water. Regulars treat it like their own members' club, meeting friends for lunch or business, and the delightful waiting staff are more than happy to continuously top up flutes of champagne during cocktail hour. The gym, also on the 4th floor, is fully stocked with weights and holds fitness and Peloton classes in the evenings. A large pink trunk in the lobby is thoughtfully stocked with children's toys and colouring books for parents to grab on their way to dinner or before bed. And the hotel's impressive seasonal floral arrangements from NYC studio Fleurish remind guests that sometimes there's no luxury better than fresh flowers. Score 9/10On the edge of the mad swirl of Midtown, the hotel is just a ten-minute walk from major museums, historic department stores, the theatre district and the High Line elevated park, as well as NoMad's neighbourhood restaurants and hotspots. Pinkies up for afternoon tea: 10 luxury hotels that do it best

Advertisement Experience all the ceremonial history of an afternoon tea at The Langham, Chicago – Photo courtesy of The Langham, Chicago Afternoon tea and high tea are experiences that transcend the sum of their parts. Foods like cucumber sandwiches, chicken salad, and scones are always appealing, but they are somehow transformed into delicacies when prepared in miniature and arranged artfully on a tiered platter. Tea magically becomes more delicious when poured from a fancy pot, and sparkling wine appears more bubbly when sipped from a crystal flute. These are just a few reasons why we turn to high tea and afternoon tea to commemorate special occasions or to create new memories with cherished family members or friends. What's the difference between high tea and afternoon tea? The terms "high tea" and "afternoon tea" are often used interchangeably; however, there are key differences between them. Both originated in England, where afternoon tea was a refined affair enjoyed at a low table, such as a coffee table placed in front of a sofa. It traditionally consisted of a light meal featuring delicate cakes, scones, and finger sandwiches. High tea, on the other hand, was a casual meal served at a high table or countertop. The working class enjoyed high tea after a hard day of labor. Although it may have included breads and desserts, it typically consisted of a heartier meal of substantial dishes made with meat, fish, or eggs. Advertisement What do you wear for high tea or afternoon tea? In the United States, high tea and afternoon tea are typically elevated experiences, characterized by elegant surroundings and refined place settings. Therefore, it's common to dress smartly for the occasion. That doesn't necessarily mean donning white gloves and formal attire like they did in the Victorian era. Women usually wear a blouse with a lovely skirt, pants, or a dress. Men generally pair slacks with a collared shirt. When making a reservation for afternoon tea, check if the venue has a dress code in place. Must-try afternoon teas across the U.S. There are elevated tea experiences throughout the United States that are worthy of celebrating special moments, and many take place at elegant hotels. Here are 10 of our favorites.
