DA's office honors exceptional attorneys, spokesperson
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County District Attorney's Office honored three of its employees after its year-end review.
Officials say the three individuals have demonstrated exceptional justice and service to victims.
Supervising Deputy District Attorney Larry Fields was awarded the Justice Award, according to officials. In 8 months in 2024, Fields tried five homicide cases and spent 109 days in trial.
One of Fields' most notable cases was the securing the conviction of Anthony Martin, who shot and killed a homeless man over a drug deal.
Deputy District Attorney Janae Knallay was awarded Prosecutor of the Year. Knallay specializes in human trafficking cases.
Public Information Officer Daniela Gonzaga was awarded Support Staff Person of the Year. Gonzaga highlights the Kern County District Attorney's Office efforts and the office's mission.
