Larry The Cable Guy Taking New Special ‘It's A Gift' To Prime Video
EXCLUSIVE: Larry the Cable Guy has inked a deal with Prime Video to release his new comedy special, Larry the Cable Guy: It's A Gift, on September 12. In the hour-long special, filmed at the Capitol Theater in Clearwater, Florida, Larry delivers takes on everything from family life and aging to the everyday absurdities of modern living. A Grammy nominee, Billboard Award winner and multi-platinum recording artist known for his rapid-fire punchlines, unmistakable voice and Southern everyman perspective, Larry the Cable Guy broke out as part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour in the early 2000s. Most recently releasing the Netflix special Remain Seated, he co-founded the SiriusXM comedy channel Jeff and Larry's Comedy Roundup, highlighting the best in American stand-up, with his fellow Blue Collar comedy troupe member Jeff Foxworthy. Larry the Cable Guy is also known for voicing the role of Mater in Disney/Pixar's Cars franchise, spanning three films, the Disney+ series Cars on the Road, and the Disney Jr. series Cars: Lightning Racers, premiering in 2027. His other credits include films like Jingle All the Way 2, A Madea Christmas, Tooth Fairy 2, Witless Protection, Delta Farce and Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector, as well as the History Channel series Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy, which ran for three seasons. He is repped by UTA, Maggie Houlihan at MRH Entertainment, and Adam Kaller and Lauren Schwartz at Hansen, Jacobson. 'Larry the Cable Guy: It's A Gift' to premiere Sept. 12 on Prime Video

File Photo by Jim Ruymen/UPI | License Photo Aug. 15 (UPI) -- A new one-hour comedy special called Larry the Cable Guy: It's A Gift is set to premiere Sept. 12 on Prime Video. The show was taped at the Capitol Theater in Clearwater, Fla. "Known for his rapid fire punchlines, unmistakable voice and every-man perspective, Larry delivers fresh takes on everything from family life and aging to the everyday absurdities of modern living," the streaming service said in a press release Thursday. "It's A Gift captures the essence of what fans have come to love about Larry: outrageous humor, heartfelt moments and a whole lot of laughs. The entertainer, whose real name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney, also co-founded the Sirius XM channel Jeff and Larry's Comedy Roundup with Jeff Foxworthy, and is the voice of Mater the rusty tow truck in Disney/Pixar's Cars franchise.
