Pamela Anderson, Liam Neeson dodge dating rumors on 'Today' show: 'Are you two an item?'
"The Naked Gun" costars Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson are the latest focus of Hollywood romance rumors. The Hollywood A-listers behind the beloved 1980s and '90s action franchise reboot appeared on the "Today" show with coanchor Craig Melvin, who bluntly asked the duo if they were dating. "What's the deal here?" Melvin asked on the July 29 episode, addressing "red carpet action" and a "passionate" onscreen kiss. "You're both single right now. There's clearly chemistry on display throughout this film. Are you two an item?" Neeson, 73, replied, "Craig!" as Anderson, 58, coyly quipped, "What? I don't understand the question." Neeson then told Melvin that "I had never met Pamela before. We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry as two actors." On "Today," Melvin playfully told the costars that "we're watching the beginning of the breathing of a budding relationship" – as Anderson nervously laughed – and the journalist added that "America's here for it. Jamie Lee Curtis thinks she's like her mom "in many, many, ways". The 66-year-old actress is the daughter of screen idols Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, and Jamie admits that she could see a lot of herself in her mom, who passed away in 2004, aged 77. The Hollywood star - who has been married to Christopher Guest since 1984 - told People: "I tried to do everything not to be my mother. And, of course, I'm very much like my mother in many, many, ways. "My admiration for her has swelled as my disappointments have lessened. I know that my mother was so proud of me and and what I've achieved, that she respected my husband's work and was thrilled to be a grandma." Despite this, Jamie thinks her mom would've "loathed" her appearance in Everything Everywhere All at Once, the 2022 comedy-drama film. The actress explained: "My mother's been gone a long time. And today I have a freedom to be myself that my mother's generation would never have allowed. My mother would've been incredibly upset at Everything Everywhere All at Once and how I looked." Jamie believes her mom's generation was more image-orientated than her own. And she thinks that Janet would've disliked her appearance in The Last Showgirl, too. The veteran actress - who remains one of Hollywood's most bankable stars - explained: "Her generation was so much about your body and what you look like. And the beauty. The beauty is just who she was. That's what her life was. "My mother was literally jaw dropping. But I think that would've been very hard for her to see me with my tummy sticking out. Or in [the film] Last Showgirl, for her to see me in that dressing room at 66 years old. That really would've upset her. "I know her very well. I have accepted myself in a much bigger way than I think she felt she was allowed to, through her generation."

Pamela Anderson thinks she has made a "friend forever" in Liam Neeson. The Last Showgirl actress stars opposite the 72-year-old star in the upcoming Naked Gun reboot and they quickly developed a "very loving" relationship and a "sincere connection". Pamela, 58, gushed to Entertainment Weekly: "I think I have a friend forever in Liam, and we definitely have a connection that is very sincere, very loving, and he's a good guy." The former Playboy model noted how different her and Liam's respective careers have been and she found it "very meaningful" to share the screen with the Taken actor. Pamela added: "He's a true artist. He comes from theater and Schindler's List and has done over a hundred films. And I did things inside out and backwards, came from television, and then my personal life kind of overshadowed my professional life. "It is funny: We all come to this place in different ways, but to be able to share this experience with him is very meaningful and such an honour." Liam wasn't sure what to expect from Pamela, who plays his character Lt. Frank Drebbin Jr.'s love interest Beth Davenport, but he was very impressed by her performance. He said: "She embraced and embodied the silliness, the quirkiness, and the intensity — and a little sad quality in her, too, which was adorable.
