Two traffic stops led Arkansas State Police to confiscate hundreds of pounds of illegal narcotics

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials said two June 19 traffic stops led the Arkansas State Police to confiscate 300 pounds of illegal narcotics. An ASP spokesperson said the first stop was at 1:45 a.m. on Interstate 30, near the 65-mile marker in Clark County, for a traffic violation. Troopers searched the sedan and found 13 boxes holding 150 bottles of prescription Promethazine. Both are facing charges of drug paraphernalia possession, unauthorized vehicle use and unlawful sale of depressants/stimulants, officials said. The spokesperson continued that at 11:45 a.m. troopers stopped an SUV traveling east on Interstate 40 near the Arkansas-Oklahoma border, also for a traffic violation. Officials said a search of the vehicle led to troopers finding 117 pounds of methamphetamine packed in duffel bags and boxes. Arkansas State Police says the agency seized more than $3 million, 15,000 pounds of marijuana in 2024 The driver, 41-year-old Bryan Huckeba and passenger, 47-year-old James Gilley, both of Georgia, were booked into the Crawford County Detention Center. Both are facing felony charges of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 'These seizures not only disrupt the supply of dangerous drugs but also serve as a warning to traffickers that Arkansas State Police enforcement remains highly active and coordinated in its interdiction efforts,' ASP Col.
