The Fortune Hotel season two kicks off with a brutal twist that has never been seen on the show as host Stephen Mangan delivers crushing news to the new contestants. Series two of the ITV show is set to hit our screens on Wednesday night - and it's certainly not one to miss. In a sneak peek of the first episode, the players are given some very shocking news from presenter Stephen, 57. After stepping out of a fancy car, Stephen walks towards the pairs in a light blue suit as they all give him a big cheer. He tells them: 'Welcome to Grenada airport. How are you all doing? 'I expect you are all wondering what is going on? Series two of the ITV show is set to hit our screens on Wednesday night - and it's certainly not one to miss 'Well, we're here to play a game and it will result in one pair heading home with a life changing amount of money. 'Your first challenge is to find a room key and take it to the hotel. 'But there are 11 pairs here - and there are only 10 rooms available at the Fortune Hotel.' The contestants gasp in absolute shock. The Fortune Hotel premiered last year on ITV and follows The synopsis reads: 'You can't trust anyone at The Fortune Hotel. 'Join Stephen Mangan at a luxury resort filled with glamour and deception as pairs of contestants compete for £250K.' The programme's vodcast, Late Check Out, is hosted by funny woman Ellie Taylor. There are a range of different pairs taking part in the upcoming series, including brothers construction worker Jake, 29, and energy surveyor Mike, 33. Events worker Allan, 38, from Aberdeen, will be part of the show alongside his partner Jacob, 33, who is from Huddersfield. There is also a mother-son duo taking to our screens this year. Tech broker Sue, 59, and her son Jeremy, 23 - from Halifax - will be battling it out for the huge cash prize. Best pals Briony, 33, and Chelsey, 34, from Wigan, are another pair taking part. They aren't the only friends taking part as commercial manager Gurks, 28, and energy salesman Guv, 35, from Leicester, are part of the cast this year too. A third friendship pairing consists of Maz, 46, and Maxine, 41, both from Essex. Meanwhile couple senior financial accountant Nella, 31, and her partner Tope, 34, who is a finance business partner, are going to try and see if they can win the show. Dad James, 45, and daughter Jasmine, 23, are another pair. He is a carpet fitter, while Yasmin works as a teaching assistant. Retired police officer Atholl, 58, is going to be joined by his son waiter John, 30. Could Fred, 60, and Min, 59 - who are life partners from Blackpool - win the money? There is also another mother-daughter duo - Martina, 68, and Briony, 32 - from Brighton - hitting our screens.
