Samay Raina takes potshots at India's Got Latent row, accepts he is ‘bad at editing stuff out,' answers if his show will return. Watch

Comedian Samay Raina has definitely seen better days in his career, with everything that happened with his YouTube show India's Got Latent. Several court cases, threats, and rounds of bashing on the internet; Raina seems to be staging a comeback. He recently appeared on a promotional video with podcaster Raj Shamani for a brand that manufactures products around men's sexual health. Shamani spoke to him about a possible return of India's Got Latent, his recent troubles and how he is bad at 'editing out stuff'. Samay kept on plugging the different products of the brand in every answer. A post shared by Samay Raina (@maisamayhoon) The video opens with Raj welcoming Samay on his podcast and asking him, 'Through your journey, after seeing so many lows, what exactly did you learn from it?' Raina responds, 'Life has both highs and lows; I have realised that. You should always be bold regardless of what happens, but even boldness has a limit.' Just when it looks like Samay is giving a serious answer, he proceeds to advertise the company's condoms. Samay made a reference to the whole controversy regarding his dark humour and said, 'Once something gets released out in the world, it never comes back.' ALSO READ: Samay Raina shares photos with Tanmay Bhat and Apurva Mukhija after India's Got Latent controversy: 'Bahut ghutan si thi' Raj doubles down on his question and asks him again, 'But what did you learn?' To which Samay again starts his story in a similar manner, again hinting at all that happened in the past while building up for another product. Shamani then asks whether India's Got Latent will be making a comeback and Samay responds, 'That only time will tell, and good things take time. It's time that is the strongest and the most important.' At this point of the answer, Raj looks defeated because he knows that Samay is in fact not talking about the show but about a product. Samay ends it by making fun of Raj and how, out of the two of them, Raj's life is currently going much better. Raj starts laughing and talks to people behind the camera to cut this segment out, and Samay says. 'That is exactly what I am unable to do: edit stuff out.' Even though brands had started dropping influencers left and right after the India's Got Latent controversy, Samay seems to be fighting his way back. Apoorva Mukhija, a.k.a. The Rebel Kid, who also got roped into the whole Latent episode and received a lot of unwarranted flack, has started posting on social media again and even made appearances on podcasts to talk about everything that went down and what she and her family went through.

‘Manhoos, drunkard' Kunal Kamra gets mercilessly roasted by fellow comics: ‘His favourite position is opposition'

Comedian Kunal Kamra is no stranger to controversy; his latest special caused a stir among a certain section of the audience, who took offence to jokes he made about some politicians. They destroyed the venue where the special was shot, and Kamra was hit with several FIRs. The comic splits his time between Himachal Pradesh and Puducherry, and has been put on the no-fly list by several airlines after an altercation that he had with TV journalist Arnab Goswami. He appeared on the latest episode of Ashish Solanki's Roast show on YouTube, where a panel of comics joked about Kamra's edgy comedy, growing 'irrelevance', and his 'saviour' attitude. Kamra was seen laughing along as his friends and colleagues took aim at him in the roast, a format of stand-up comedy where people poke fun at a person, no holds barred. Solanki described Kamra has 'manhoos', citing his appearance on Samay Raina's equally controversial series India's Got Latent. The first comic to take shots at Kamra was Sumaira Shaikh, also implied that he is a drunk. 'Kamra has become a farmer, the first farmer who gives alcohol to his plants,' she joked. 'Saviour ban ke ghoomta hai, Muslim comics and female comics ka. Apne baal toh bacha nahi paaya,' she continued. Sumaira finished her set with another reference at the India's Got Latent controversy. 'Let's send him to jail, would you rather…' Also read – Kunal Kamra says he'd rather 'check into a mental hospital' than do Bigg Boss, shares screenshot of offer The second comic, Shashwat Maheshwari, said that he wishes 'Modi ji would lose just so that Kamra shuts up'. He continued, 'Kamra sunta sabki hai lekin karta Congress ki hai.' He finished with, 'Kamra has been doing political comedy for years, but he has converted nobody. sleeper cells are more active than him. As an aware citizen, I don't want him on my team.' The biggest laugh came for a joke by comic Onkar Yadav, who joked, 'Kamra thinks Latent is Balraj's show, kyunki Kashmiri Pandit toh isse dikhte nahi.' This was another reference at India's Got Latent; the show was filmed at The Habitat, owned by Balraj Ghai, and hosted by Samay Raina, whose Pandit culture is a big part of his artistry. Comic Daahab Chishti took the centrestage next, and shot off a series of jokes: 'Kamra is my favourite comic because I lost my taste after Covid. Kamra's favourite position is opposition. Kamra thinks spanking means lathi charge.' Kamra's childhood friend, Siddharth Dudeja, called him a 'drug addict, drunkard, and cigarette smoker.' He joked, 'They sent murders after him, but even they gave up. They thought let's focus our energy on Ravish, this guy will kill himself with that lifestyle.' The show ended with Kamra taking the centrestage and, as he did in his controversial recent special, held up the Constitution of India. 'Let me say something while I'm still relevant. if anybody has an issue with comedy, you can file a case within the framework of the constitution, and we can respond,' he said.

Samay Raina's comeback: Comedian chills with The Rebel Kid, shares photo of reunion with Apoorva Mukhija on Instagram

Comedian Samay Raina returned to Instagram after months of silence. His return followed a controversy over alleged vulgarity in his show, India's Got Latent. As he plans to restart his stand-up career with a new tour, Raina shared a series of pictures in Instagram Stories. The photos showed him meeting friends like Gursimran Khamba and Tanmay Bhat. The Instagram Stories also showed a screenshot of a video call with his parents. It also showed him in the gym. However, the photo that probably turned many heads was the one with Apoorva Mukhija, also known as The Rebel Kid. The social media influencer, who became a controversial figure after her appearance on India's Got Latent, was also named in the same FIR. Samay Raina's Instagram Stories on May 14 On May 13, Samay made his first public appearance after announcing his comeback tour. At a Mumbai web series screening, he greeted fans and posed for photos. One of them asked, 'Bhai, show wapis kab aa raha hai? (Bro, when is the show coming back?).' Samay Raina chuckled and said, 'Ab to…(Now, it is…).' His reaction apparently hinted at the uncertainty around the return of India's Got Latent. However, his photo with Apoorva seems to show that their friendship remains strong despite the controversy. Mukhija appeared on the reality show along with popular YouTubers, Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani, and comedian Jaspreet Singh. Apoorva Mukhija had a bumpy ride in her career after the controversy. On Instagram, she unfollowed everyone, including Samay Raina. Then, she deleted all her photos on the social media platform. Later, she shared an emotional video and revealed the height of being trolled after her appearance on Samay Raina's show. She even received rape threats and death threats. After the controversy and legal challenges, Samay Raina disappeared from social media as if he never existed. There was radio silence from his side. Raina first reacted during the Pahalgam terror attack. Since then, he has shared many Stories. The standup comedian, who has a dedicated fan following worldwide, returned to YouTube with an announcement video of his next world tour. The video, which subtly addressed the Latent controversy, got nearly 4 million views on YouTube within a couple of days. On Instagram, the Reel has gone viral with 32 million views. One of the clips in the video shows him video-calling his parents. 'Will you say hello? Not to me,' says Samay Raina and turns to the massive crowd attending his show as his fans cheered for him. On May 14, Raina posted many stories at once. In his last Story of the night, he clarified why. It was because he felt emotionally suffocated. In an emotional message, he thanked his fans for their love and support. He wrote, 'I love you all. I'm so happy to be experiencing all this love. I can't wait to see you guys in my shows abroad and in India. I'm so grateful to all of you. Goodnight.'
