Bloodshed across London after sixth fatal shooting in 2025

There has been bloodshed with six fatal shootings so far this year across London. Violence has struck streets all over the capital time and time again in 2025, with terrifying gun crimes occurring throughout the past eight months. Today (August 5) marks the sixth fatal shooting victim this year. The first reported person to die from a shooting this year was in Stockwell in March. June then saw the most victims lose their life over gun crime, with three incidents. We have put together an interactive map showing where all the terrible acts of violence occurred. This only includes those killed in shootings which are known by Newsquest London at the time of publication. If you have problems viewing or reading the interactive map, click here to see the full screen version. Stockwell Lathaniel Burrell, 16, was shot dead on March 4 at 3.20pm on Paradise Road. A 17-year-old boy from Peckham who cannot be named for legal reasons was charged with murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. Jeffery Frimpong, 30, of Smedley Street, Lambeth, was charged with murder. Another 17-year-old boy and Omar Prempeh, 32, of Sunderland Road, Forest Hill, were charged with murder. Tottenham Mahad Abdi Mohamed, 27, died of a gunshot wound to his head after a shooting in Waverley Road Tottenham on March 20 at 8.45pm. He had spent the evening shortly before the shooting with his friend at their home. They were breaking their fast when a stolen Mitsubishi Outlander approached and the suspects inside opened fire, striking Mahad multiple times. He was taken to hospital where he died - while his friend was treated in hospital after being shot on the leg. Police believe that this was a mistaken identity attack. Hammersmith Jordan Rodney, a 30-year-old from Northolt, was killed after a shooting in Claxton Grove on June 11. His family called him a 'warm, funny and loving' guy. A second victim, also in his 30s, was discharged from hospital. Jahmel Joseph, 28, of Eaton Rise, Ealing, has been charged with murder, attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a prohibited weapon and dangerous driving. Croydon Anthony Morrison, 41, was found injured in Imperial Way, near Purley Way, at around 5pm on June 19. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after. A crime scene was in place near the Costco store. On June 23, 39-year-old Byron Cole, of Gleneldon Road, Lambeth was charged with murder. Enfield Keanu Harker, 18, died in hospital after being shot in Great Cambridge Road on June 26 at 8.45pm. Anais King, 18, was arrested on August 3 and has been charged with perverting the course of justice. A 17-year-old boy was arrested in Paris on suspicion of murder on August 3. On June 29, a 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged the next day with murder. Eliezer Mbike, 25, of Oulton Road in Tottenham was arrested and charged on June 30 with perverting the course of justice. A trial will take place at the Old Bailey on May 18 next year. Police also arrested a 39-year old man on July 24 on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. He has since been bailed to return in September pending further enquiries. Stoke Newington Police have been called to Dynevor Road, near to the junction of Stoke Newington High Street on Tuesday (August 5) just before 12.20am. At the scene, a 45-year-old was found to be shot. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by the police. At the time of reporting, there have been no arrests.

"There is a war going on in the United Kingdom. If we don't do anything, things are going to get bad."Michael, who has just been released from prison after serving a sentence for stabbing a man, is speaking to me at location I cannot reveal as he is worried about April 2022, the then gang member attacked a rival on a busy shopping street in Maidstone. Luckily, he didn't die," he 24-year-old from south London went on to plead guilty to wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and was jailed for two years and eight months. When his father went to prison, he says his attendance at school his mother worked long hours, she was unaware he was not going to school. 'I see 10 people trying to kill me' He also describes how his family was struggling financially. "There's no food in the fridge, no electricity for one week. You are 15, thinking you have to provide for your family," he explains how he got in with a group of youngsters who thought gang life was "cool" and offered respect in a world that gave them very order to join the gang, he had to have something to offer, whether it be money or clout in the says he offered the gang "recklessness" and would buy knives for the group, which included anything from machetes to zombie says he would conceal them in his tracksuit bottoms as he walked around the streets. He would also keep a folding knife in his pocket."I could walk past you now, and you would have no idea that I was carrying one." As a teenager he also got into drill music under the name WoolyO. But his videos put a target on his back, he says, and led to him being targeted in a "honeytrap", which is a tactic frequently used by involves an individual or individuals who assume a false identity to cultivate a relationship with the target this instance, Michael says a woman lured him to a hotel where members of a rival gang were hiding."I look across. I just see 10 people emerging, running after me, trying to kill me." 'Dirty work' Since Michael's release from prison, two teenagers have been killed in attacks in Bokassa, 14, was stabbed on a London bus in Woolwich in January, while 16-year-old Lathaniel Burrell was shot in Stockwell on 4 March. Michael wants to help prevent such deaths. He hopes to encourage young people to reject gang life, which he believes "makes no sense".He says he thinks very few youngsters actually know why they are attacking each south Londoner is calling on older gang members to stop using teenagers to do their "dirty work".He also wants the government to start investing more in families who are struggling in the UK, rather than in conflicts overseas.

A moped rider wearing a bright orange Just Eat jacket is wanted over the fatal shooting of a boy, a court has heard. Lathaniel Burrell, 16, was shot in the chest by a lone gunman shortly after 15:00 GMT on 4 March. He collapsed on grass and died at the scene in Paradise Road, Stockwell, south London. Omar Prempeh, 32, appeared at the Old Bailey charged with murder. It is alleged he drove the gunman, who remains at large, from the scene. During the preliminary hearing, it was heard the gunman was wearing a crash helmet, gloves and a distinctive orange Just Eat jacket and was riding a stolen Honda moped. The court was told by the prosecution that the shooting was "a targeted attack on the victim". "The gunman is still outstanding," the court was told. It was heard the gunman had gone in and out of Paradise Road within 20 seconds, during which time Lathaniel was shot. Mr Prempeh, of Stanstead Road, Forest Hill, south-east London, appeared in court by video link from Belmarsh prison and spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth. Judge Rebecca Trowler KC set a plea hearing for 29 May and a provisional four-week trial from 1 December. She remanded Mr Prempeh in custody. A 17-year-old boy has also been charged with murder and appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court. He is next due at the Old Bailey on Friday.
