‘This clear fake tan lasts a week and has people asking if I've been on holiday'
Beauty editor Laura Mulley recently tried out this clear dark tanning water and couldn't believe how long it lasted – and the compliments she received on her golden glow In summer, I rely on fake tan when wearing shorts, dresses and T-shirts to give my naturally pale skin some healthy colour. I've got my favourites – Isle Of Paradise Glow Clear Self Tanning Mousse Medium being one – but I'm always keen to try new ones. I'm particularly drawn to finding the best clear fake tans that won't ruin my bedsheets – and here's one that I was super impressed with, and got me lots of compliments. The night before attending a recent Oasis gig I applied Bare by Vogue Clear Tan Water Dark, currently down from £23 to £16.10 at Boots, from the tanning brand founded by TV personality Vogue Williams. A clear water that comes out as a foam, it feels velvety to apply, goes on smoothly and evenly, and dries quickly – and yes, unless it's a particularly hot and sticky night, doesn't come off onto your bedding. Although naturally very pale myself, I braved using the dark shade of tan as I'd tested the medium before and didn't think the colour was strong enough. And actually, when I woke up the next morning, it still wasn't as dark as I expected it to be – in fact, I wondered if anyone would even notice a difference. However, maybe I was imagining it but I felt like the tan continued to develop slightly throughout the day, even after showering, and come mid-afternoon when it was time to get ready for the event, I felt confident wearing my chosen outfit of white shorts and vintage T-shirt. And when I met up with friends, I received compliments on my colour straight away: "You look glowing!" one said. "Have you just come back from holiday?" It wasn't just this response that I was thrilled with, but also how well this tan lasted. Normally I get about three days of good colour before my tan starts to disappear or turn streaky, but this Bare by Vogue formula still looked good on my limbs a week later, and even pushed 10 days. Definitely one to try if you want long-lasting results. My one negative is that it might not be dark enough for those after a very deep colour (I'd say if was more in line with my other 'medium' tans). If you want something ultra-dark, you might want to go for Filter by Molly-Mae Extra Dark Tanning Mousse, £22, or Cocoa Brown 1 HOUR TAN Self Tan Mousse in Extra Dark, currently £6.66. And for when it's time to remove any old remnants of your self tan before applying a fresh layer, our shopping writer Meghan has been really impressed by how well St Moriz Self Tan Removing Foam, £4.99, works. "You'll notice almost immediately that colour starts running off in the water, and it is noticeably lifted from the skin," Meghan says. "With just the water pressure, some areas were already tan-free (though I imagine this happens more if you leave the remover on for longer, as I did) – no scrubbing or exfoliating required."

My tried-and tested method for getting sun cream stains out of clothes
After much trial and error, beauty and travel editor Laura Mulley has hit upon a foolproof three-step formula for removing stubborn sunscreen and make-up stains from clothes I feel like I talk about this a lot, but it's one of my biggest bugbears in summer: the frustration of seeing my favourite light-coloured summer clothing constantly ruined from wearing sun cream. And as someone who travels a lot as part of my job as a travel editor, this was becoming a regular problem. I've tried so many solutions found on the internet, from sun-bleaching and citric acid to rust removers and lemon juice, but none or these worked. However, after years of trial and error, I've hit upon a three-step process that removes the worst of these stains from clothes, using products you can easily find in the supermarket or on Amazon. Not just useful after a hot holiday when you slather on sun cream regularly, this process also works on collars and necklines that have been discoloured by skincare products containing SPF (which of course you should be wearing every day) or foundation. It's not the quickest (it takes about 24 hours in total) and it hasn't removed some of the very old, very yellow marks, but it's what works best for me. It might be worth researching trying to find a sunscreen that doesn't contain avobenzone, oxybenzone or octocrylene, said to be the main culprits; this isn't an easy task, but I found that this one didn't leave lasting stains. SPF oils appear to be the worst for this. I should note first, however, that I'm not a laundry expect – this is simply what works for me – so do always read your item's care label beforehand, and use your best judgement. How to remove sun cream stains from clothes Step one The first thing I do is apply Vanish PowerGel Stain Remover (£6) to the affected areas, and spray it with a little Elbow Grease (currently a very good price of £1.99 for a big one litre bottle) – these could be applied in either order. As its name suggests, Elbow Grease breaks down the oil element of the sunscreen, and was a tip given to me by the mum of a messy toddler. Leave these two products on the clothing for a few minutes (Vanish advises that their product is left on for five minutes maximum, but I'm sure I've exceeded this). Step two The step that I think makes the most difference. Fill a big bowl or bucket with warm water, a handful of Napisan (currently £9.49) and a squirt of Fairy Liquid, and leave your clothes to soak in this solution overnight. Washing up liquid again helps to break down grease, and Napisan is the star product, a miracle stain remover I learnt about from another mum. You must leave it to work overnight, but it works brilliantly (it's also great for getting trainers back to white). Step three In the morning, wash your clothes on a slightly hotter washing machine cycle if the fabrics can take it (check the care label), with a cupful of ACE Ultra For Colours Stain Remover (£10.48 for two) instead of your usual detergent, which I think this adds the final helping hand in the fight against sun cream stains. This method isn't 100% perfect but it leaves my white clothes looking better than any other product or trick I've tried, and I'll never be without these five household products in my cupboard now.

‘I went to an Oasis gig and here's what all the cool women were wearing'
Our beauty editor Laura Mulley was at one of the Oasis shows in Manchester this weekend, and if you're wondering what to wear to your upcoming gig, here's some inspiration I was lucky enough to get tickets to see Oasis play at Heaton Park in Manchester on Saturday night, and it was as incredible as all the fans are saying; if you've got tickets for an upcoming show – or are hoping to buy some last-minute ones – you're in for a real treat. However, I ummed and ahhed about what I should wear to it for quite a while beforehand. It needed to be practical for the long day spend, in my case, in a field, yet as someone how loves fashion, I still wanted to look cool. Of course, the majority of people were wearing the band's merchandise, namely T-shirts and bucket hats; these can be bought in advance via the official Oasis store, or you'll be able to pick one up from vendors at or outside the venue. You'll also find loads of great options on the high street, including at Next, Debenhams and Amazon. As I attended Heaton Park, a fully open-air venue, wellies or boots and raincoats were definitely needed (I ordered this leopard print one from ASOS). If you're going to Wembley Stadium, however, trainers would be acceptable; keep with the band's connection to Adidas with a pair of Spezials. Here's what else to pair your merch with... A crossbody bag Safe and easily accessible yet stylish, a crossbody bag is perfect for gigs as it leaves your hands free. I took my everyday Arket black crossbody bag, but the cult classic Uniqlo Round Mini Shoulder Bag, £14.90, is perfect for this – it's lightweight and comes in loads of colours now. Remember that any bag you bring needs to be under A4 in size (no backpacks), and they will be searched prior to entry. Shorts Even if the weather's not baking hot, we're still talking summer here, and at Heaton Park almost all of the women were wearing shorts rather than jeans or trousers; paired with a band T-shirt, I think it gives a rock 'n' roll, festival look. If you're planning on sitting on anyone's shoulders, they're far more practical than a skirt. Go for a pair of denim cut-offs like these classic Levi's 501s, from £42, or this black pair from Nobody's Child, now better than half price at £22, and still available in all sizes. A bucket hat If you're going to wear any sort of headwear, make it a bucket hat, in keeping with the band's famous 90s style – so many men and women were wearing them at Heaton Park. If you want to buy a non-Oasis one that you'll get more wear out of, I loved this grey leopard print Adidas one my friend was wearing (£30). It's currently only available in one size though, so if you want more options, ASOS is a great place to look. This Adidas olive-coloured one is £23, while this £8 cream one is a great bargain option is you know you're not going to wear it much after the event. How to buy Oasis tickets Viagogo and resale tickets Sites such as viagogo, Stubhub, and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase. Those tickets may not be valid for admittance to gigs. Fans intending to buy tickets for live events through resale websites should check the ticket terms and conditions, to confirm whether resale is prohibited, before they buy. Ticket terms and conditions can be checked with the original seller, such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation. If resale is prohibited, tickets bought second-hand could be voided and admission to the event refused. While they operate in a grey area, the resale websites including viagogo, StubHub and Vivid Seats have the biggest collection of tickets available right now. And these begin at prices including £350 and £400. These websites give fans the chance to buy tickets up to the day of the concert in question. And ticket-buyers are protected by each website's guarantee, meaning they are promised either entry to the event with their ticket, or their money back. No arrests required. Here's the links: Alternatively, the official retailers, Ticketmaster, Seat Unique and Twickets, are the only legitimate ways to buy tickets at this point in the tour. However, Ticketmaster and Twickets have not had any tickets come through for weeks. With that said, Seat Unique still has VIP and hospitality tickets available right now. These tickets come complete with complimentary food, drinks, early access, after parties, and more. Here's all the links fans need:

‘I ditched my designer mascara for this £20 formula that makes my lashes look so long'
I try out plenty of mascaras as part of my job as a beauty editor, but here's a new one that's totally surprised me by how good it is, says beauty editor Laura Mulley Thank to their instantly transformative effects – especially on someone with pale lashes such as myself – mascaras are probably one of the beauty products I test out the most. I've got a list of my favourites, including the best bargain ones, and now I've just discovered a new one to add to the list. I was recently sent Lash Focus Mascara from Glow For It to try out and, not knowing much about this brand and it not being one of my go-to mascara makers like L'Oréal or Dior, I admit I didn't have especially high expectations – however, it quickly impressed me, and is now a firm favourite. Inspired, I think, by Glow For It's lash serum, the Lash Focus Mascara, £19.99, contains tripeptides and provitamin B5 to condition lashes as well as enhancing and defining them, helping them to grow stronger and healthier. It was apparently a fan favourite, reformulated and brought back due to popular demand. One thing that liked about it from the offset is how dry yet 'sticky' the formula is; it's quite tight to drag the wand out of the tube, meaning that there isn't loads of excess of the brush, so no overloading lashes with clumps, or smudging. The product then seems to cling to the lash hairs, allowing you to easily coat every millimetre. This makes it especially good on the lower lashes, and it also layers well. If you love full-on, false lash-effect volume, this isn't the mascara for you (instead try something like DIOR Diorshow Overvolume Mascara, £35); instead this Glow For It one gives excellent length and precise definition – it made my lashes look really long and really pretty, in quite a natural way. Thanks to its conditioning ingredients it also doesn't flake off throughout the day or, I found, smudge. For me, it's not one for glam events or when I'm wearing a lot of other eye make-up, but it's the perfect everyday mascara. In fact, I've even swapped from using a designer one almost double the price. I haven't used it for long enough yet to comment on if it really does make your lashes stronger and healthier, but mine are already in pretty good condition – and long – thanks to diligent use of lash serum every night. My favourite will always be RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Serum, from £59, but Sweed Eyelash Growth Serum, £42, and OLAPLEX Lashbond Building and Enhancing Serum, currently reduced to £44.75 from £64, are also great options; the key is to use them every single night, and for at least three months.

‘This glow-boosting foundation gets me more compliments than any other'
'I've tried dozens of different foundations, but this is the one I always return to whenever I need my skin to looks its very best,' says beauty editor Laura Mulley As someone who feels most confident when my skin is looking its best, I wear some sort of face base pretty much every day. While I've been loving skin tints and tinted moisturisers recently (this one is incredible), there's one tried-and-trusted foundation that I fall back on again and again, and which always gets me compliments on my skin – and professional make-up artists love it too. The product I'm talking about is Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte's Beautiful Skin Foundation, a gorgeous buildable, medium coverage face base that, I think, really does make skin look more beautiful: even, glowing and more youthful. It's available in 30 shades covering all skin undertones and costs £39, and a tube lasts for ages. The main reason that I love it so much it that it gives 'proper' coverage (no hints or tints here) – something that I need, as someone who often has blemishes or redness I want to cover – but never looks patchy, cakey or like you're wearing a lot of make-up. It also gives skin the perfect amount of glow, and lasts well all day. I typically wear shade 3 Neutral, but could also wear one of the shades 4s too. On a recent work photoshoot in which I was going to be in front of the camera, I had my make-up done by the professional MUA on set, and the base she used on me was Charlotte's Beautiful Skin Foundation; she told me how much she loves using it on clients. I actually got compliments on how good my skin looked on camera that day, which I put down to this impressive formula. One top tip I learnt from watching her do my make-up was to not forget to blend your face base down your neck, and to brush a little of what's left over on the brush over your ears, which cam sometimes appear red. I also recently bumped into an old friend and couldn't believe how glowing her skin looked. When I just had to ask what she was wearing, she told me it was – you've guessed it – Charlotte's Beautiful Skin Foundation. This does give quite a 'done' look, so the only time this wouldn't be my face base of choice if I wasn't wearing any other make-up; I think it needs some mascara and blusher for balance. In this photo above I'm wearing it with Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Sun-Kissed Glow Bronzer, £45 (it's massive), the much-loved Merit Flush Balm, £26, and my go-to mascara for length, Haus Labs B Structural Mascara, £26. At weekends or if I want a barely-there base, I'll use Jones Road Just Enough Tinted Moisturizer, £44 (you can read my full review of that here).
