Missing 81-year-old man found deceased
Ottawa police say a missing 81-year-old man has been found dead.
Winston Reid was last seen Tuesday on Eagleson Road near Stonehaven Drive in Kanata.
Police issued several photos and requests for help locating him but reported on Friday that he had died.
'We wish to extend our condolences to his family and friends,' police said.
Kanata South Coun. Allan Hubley posted condolences to social media, saying Reid was a 'shining light' in the Kanata community.
'If you didn't get to chat with him while he was working, you may have gotten to know him at Laura's Independent up at the Hazeldean Mall, where Winston was a regular, stopping in many times a week, always happy to say hello and share a laugh with you- and what a fantastic, infectious laugh he had!' Hubley said.
Police said foul play or suspicious circumstances are not suspected in Reid's death.
