Fatal hit and run under investigation in Upstate
LAURENS, S.C. (WSPA) – Police are investigating an incident in which two vehicles struck and killed a pedestrian. According to Laurens Police Department, officers were called to Fleming Street near Galrington Street, Deer Street and Conway Avenue for a reports of a pedestrian who had been hit. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was transported to the hospital but later died from their injuries. Police are working with the Laurens County Coroner's Office to investigate the incident, which has been described as a hit-and-run. No information about the vehicles involved or the circumstances of the collision have been released. Police said investigators have been reviewing a Facebook video recorded shortly before the person was hit. One killed in single-vehicle crash in Laurens Co.
LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A driver died in a crash Wednesday night in Laurens County. The SC Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 11:15 p.m. on Whelon Road near Cherry Hill Road. Troopers said a 2002 Buick was traveling east when it went off the right side of the road. The Buick then hit a ditch and overturned multiple times, troopers said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Laurens County Coroner's Office has not identified the driver at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the SCHP.
