‘Law & Order: SVU' has huge cast shakeup as 2 actors abruptly exit

Olivia Benson's elite squad is losing two of their own. Octavio Pisano, who portrays Detective Joe Velasco, and Juliana Martinez, who is Detective Kate Silva on 'Law & Order: SVU,' are exiting the NBC series at the end of Season 26. Pisano, 38, joined the drama during Season 23 as a former undercover agent turned Special Victims Unit detective. 8 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' – Season 26. Peter Kramer/NBC 8 Octavio Pisano as Detective Joe Velasco. Virginia Sherwood/NBC Martinez, 34, only joined the cast during Season 26 as a former Brooklyn Homicide Unit detective who transferred over to the 16th Precinct. Neither have yet to publicly comment on the news. Martinez, however, did take to Instagram on April 17 to share photos of the cast. 'I hope you tuned into Law & Order Crossover and Organized Crime tonight!! It's also a SZN wrap on SVU. ♥️ Thankful to everyone who has tuned in and this whole, wonderful cast tonight,' she wrote. 'Y'all ruled my world x.' 8 Juliana Aidén Martinez as Det. Kate Silva. Virginia Sherwood/NBC 8 Octavio Pisano on 'Law & Order: SVU.' Peter Kramer/NBC Despite calling it a 'SZN wrap on SVU,' the series is currently still going with the season finale, 'Post-Rage,' airing on May 15. 'Law & Order: SVU' follows detectives from the Special Victims Unit as they investigate and prosecute sexually based crimes. Many episodes are loosely ripped from the headlines. The series — created by Dick Wolf — premiered 1999 with Mariska Hargitay (Olivia Benson), Christopher Meloni (Elliot Stabler), Dann Florek (Donald Cragen), Richard Belzer (John Munch) and Ice-T (Odafin Tutuola), as the titular cast. 8 Mariska Hargitay as Capt. Olivia Benson, Juliana AideÌn Martinez as Det. Kate Silva, AimeÌ Donna Kelly as Capt. Curry, Octavio Pisano as Det. Joe Velasco. Peter Kramer/NBC Hargitay, 61, still leads the show with Ice-T, 67, while Meloni, 64, exited in 2011. The actor now stars in the spinoff 'Law & Order: Organized Crime,' which is airing its fifth season on Peacock. In April, Hargitay reflected on starring on the procedural show for 26 years. 8 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' – Season 26. Peter Kramer/NBC 8 Juliana AideÌn Martinez on 'Law & Order: SVU.' Peter Kramer/NBC 'It feels like running a marathon, and when you're in it, all you see is this much ahead of you. I've been so busy, so challenged and it requires so much of me that all I can do is be on the treadmill of trying to keep up,' she said while on 'Sunday Today With Willie Geist.' Hargitay sees parallels between her and Benson climbing up the ranks of their perspective fields. 'I would describe it as sort of the perfect feminist story,' she expressed at the time. 'There are these stepping stones of growth and integration and owning something. It's been such a beautiful evolution and such a beautiful journey.' 8 Octavio Pisano as Det. Joe Velasco, Ice T as Sgt. Odafin 'Fin' Tutuola, Juliana Aidén Martinez as Det. Kate Silva, Mariska Hargitay as Capt. Olivia Benson, Peter Scanavino as A.D.A Dominick 'Sonny' Carisi Jr., Kevin Kane as Det. Terry Bruno. 'Absolutely,' Hargitay stated when Geist, 50, asked if she felt that way too. 'It was sort of a once in a lifetime experience. I knew quickly this we had this kind of magical chemistry. Chris and I are polar opposites in terms of who we are as people and yet there was this ying yang. When they paired us I was like, 'Oh this is done.''

Found Sneak Peek: Is Jamie Ready to Share ‘Everything' About His Vanishing? (Exclusive)

This week on NBC's Found, it looks like Jamie might be ready to disclose 'everything' that happened to him during the 13 years he was missing — though only with a particular person. Ever since Margaret's (Kelli Williams) son suddenly resurfaced weeks ago, at the bus station she'd staked out for more than a decade, he has been incredibly mum with details about what happened, who took him. The lad, though, has not been forthcoming with any specifics. In the exclusive sneak peek above — from tonight's episode, 'Missing While Witnessed' (airing at 10/9c on NBC) — Jamie (Are You Afraid of the Dark?'s Parker Queenan) meets up with Detective Mark Trent (Brett Dalton) to, among other things, inquire as to how much time the abductor of a child might serve in prison. Trent offers up some general parameters, and Jamie appears to proactively weep for the person he could turn in. But because Trent is regarded by his mom's co-workers as a 'stand-up' guy, Jamie says he is ready to share 'everything' — but with Trent and Trent only. Watch the scene above, and weigh in with whether Trent will and can abide by that agreement. Elsewhere in this week's episode, the 16th of Season 2's 22, an EMT is abducted in broad daylight, and M&A's investigation creates more questions than answers. Also, Margaret reflects on her behavior after Jamie disappeared, and Trent makes a tough choice when Heather (Danielle Savre) finds herself involved in a case close to M& of TVLine Summer TV Calendar: Your Guide to 85+ Season and Series Premieres Classic Christmas Movies Guide: Where to Watch It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, Elf, Die Hard and Others What's New on Netflix in June

Dying for Sex: Watch Trailer for Michelle Williams' Hulu Miniseries, Get Release Date The Reba McEntire comedy Happy's Place, which currently occupies the Fridays-at-8 slot on NBC's schedule, will have already wrapped its freshman run when Grosse Pointe moves. Meanwhile, Dateline NBC will take over Grosse Pointe's previous Sunday perch. Season-to-date, Grosse Pointe Garden Society is averaging just 1.85 million weekly viewers (with Live+7 playback), demonstrating just 72% retention out of Suits LA and ranking last in total audience out of the 11 dramas that NBC has aired this TV season. But as NBC notes, the series' pilot episode — which debuted to 1.8 mil and a 0.17 demo rating (in Live+Same Day numbers) — has to date, across all platforms (including Peacock streaming), tallied 6.6 million viewers (up more than 3x) and a 1.21 rating (up 7x). Grosse Pointe Garden Society — created by Good Girls' Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs — follows four members of a suburban garden club who find their lives intertwined by scandal, mischief and a shared secret: a murder no one wants to talk about. As dark truths begin to rot their lives under the surface, they struggle to remain as perfect as the flowers blooming in their garden above. Who's Dead on Grosse Pointe Garden Society? View List In addition to series leads Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Aja Naomi King (How to Get Away With Murder), Ben Rappaport (The Good Wife) and AnnaSophia Robb (The Carrie Diaries), the show's cast includes Matthew Davis (The Vampire Diaries), Alexander Hodge (Insecure), Nancy Travis (Last Man Standing) and Felix Wolfe (Raven's Home). Per the official episode synopsis, Grosse Pointe's time slot premiere on April 4 will find Alice (Robb) facing unexpected challenges at work, while Brett (Rappaport) feels pressure launching his car restoration business and Birdie (Fumero) grows more involved in a tempting affair.
