Noida: On the 79th Independence Day, 14 police officials received medals for gallantry, commendable service, and commendation marks of honour. Drone cameras are also being used for surveillance of sensitive points and along the Delhi border for an eye in the sky to boost security. A special team has been constituted to monitor social media sites actively. This team will quickly act against those trying to disturb public peace or propagate misinformation online. Traffic Diversions And Real-Time Monitoring In order to facilitate the free flow of traffic, diversions have been introduced throughout Noida and Greater Noida. The Police Control Room is carrying out real-time monitoring through CCTV and Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) cameras. Apart from that, checking operations are being carried out with dog squads to detect suspicious persons and vehicles. Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh has confirmed that traffic diversions are in place at the Noida-Delhi border, and traffic is being diverted through the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. The Delhi Police has also made special arrangements to handle the expected boost in traffic towards Mathura because of the joint festivities of Independence Day and Janmashtami. Noida: Six police sub-inspectors were suspended and departmental actions initiated against them after a crime review meeting on Friday. Two police stations in-charge were also removed. The police commissioner of Gautam Budh Nagar cited their inaction in crime prevention and poor functioning over the last few months as the reasons for the decision. Ahead of the upcoming festivities, the commissionerate had called a meeting to review the performance of stations. The commissioner, Laxmi Singh, said that the review of some posts or blocks showed that almost zero preventive action was taken in these areas in the past two months, indicating poor functioning as well as a violation of clear instructions by higher officials and departmental rules. In the review, officials were instructed to ensure upcoming festivals were celebrated peacefully and safely, and that all preparations and route inspections are done on time. "Similarly, the route of the upcoming Kanwar Yatra is to be visited, and all preparations are to be completed on time," Singh said. Officials were also told to maintain a normal flow of traffic under all circumstances. Noida: Five more police stations in the city received ISO 9001:2015 certification on Thursday after their infrastructure, quality management, and office procedures were found to meet international standards for public and police services. Police commissioner Laxmi Singh said the stations underwent a special drive to standardise their operations, focusing on improving public services, ensuring prompt grievance redressal, and strengthening administrative management. "A special campaign was launched for standardisation of these five police stations to improve the level of police services provided, timely and quality redressal of public grievances, and the administrative system," she said. Standard operating procedures (SOPs) were also prepared for various branches located in the police stations, under a prescribed action plan. Police personnel appointed in the five police stations were provided training related to various subjects. So far, the police commissioner's office in Sector 108/police headquarters, Surajpur, and eight police stations of the commissionerate (including Expressway, Badalpur, and Knowledge Park) were awarded ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
