Mbwana Samatta arrives in Ligue 1
Mbwana Samatta arrives in Ligue 1 It's a historic moment: Mbwana Ally Samatta becomes the first Tanzanian ever to play in Ligue 1. The 32-year-old striker has officially signed a one-year deal with Le Havre AC. Having previously played for Genk, Aston Villa, Fenerbahçe, Antwerp, and PAOK Salonika—where he was crowned Greek champion—Mbwana Ally Samatta remains a legend of East African football. The Normandy club introduced him on their official website with a touch of humor: "In Tanzania, there are two celebrities: Kilimanjaro and Ally Samatta." As captain of the Taifa Stars, Mbwana Ally Samatta will compete in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco this December. At Le Havre, he will wear the number 70 shirt and bring his top-level experience to bolster the club's attacking force.

Ahmed Hassan leaves Le Havre
Ahmed Hassan (32) has left Le Havre AC, just six months after joining the club on a free transfer. The Egyptian forward's contract at Rio Ave expired last summer. Without a club for several months, he pitched up at Le Havre in January. Signing a short-term deal, he was brought in to secure the club's top-flight status. Having accomplished that mission, he has now made a swift departure. After arriving at the Normand club, Hassan scored three goals in 16 appearances, earning the club seven points in the process. Those goals were crucial as Le Havre secured their survival in the top-flight in the final minute of the final day of the Ligue 1 season. Officialising his departure, HAC said that the Egypt international had 'completed his mission' at the club by helping them reach their objective. Two of his goals came in slender wins over RC Lens and Lille OSC, the other coming in a 1-1 draw against AS Monaco. Hassan is now once again a free agent. GFFN | Luke Entwistle

Enzo Kana-Biyik joins Manchester United from Le Havre
Manchester United have officially confirmed the signing of Enzo Kana-Biyik (18) from Le Havre AC and also announced that he will be sent out immediately on loan to Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland. The teenager had been on the periphery of the Le Havre first team this season under Didier Digard. He was part of the matchday squad for the 2-1 victory over Lille in Ligue 1, and he was also on the bench for the Coupe de France elimination at the hands of Stade Briochin (1-). Advertisement However, the forward who can play across the front three was unable to make his professional debut for Le Club Doyen. Instead, he had a successful spell in the U19s where he played 18 and scored nine. Kana-Biyik is a France youth international and represented the U18s this season, although his father, André Kana-Biyik, and his brother, Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik, both played for Cameroon. Former Strasbourg defender Thomas Delaine to join Le Havre
Former RC Strasbourg Alsace defender Thomas Delaine (33) is set to join Le Havre AC on a free transfer, according to a report from L'Équipe. Le Havre, since the completion of Blue Crow's takeover of the club (pending DNCG approval) earlier this month, have sought to be active in the transfer market. Godson Kyeremeh and Mory Diaw have arrived, whilst Lionel Mpasi is set to arrive as a back-up goalkeeper. Advertisement Le Havre are now looking to continue their recruitment drive through the signing of Delaine. The defender left Strasbourg after three seasons this summer. His age profile was not in fitting with the BlueCo project and therefore he was not renewed. Last season, he played just two matches in Ligue 1, accumulating a mere eight minutes of playing time. However, Delaine will bring plenty of Ligue 1 experience to Le Havre. The defender has 115 matches in the top flight. He is expected in Le Havre imminently. GFFN | Luke Entwistle

Le Havre AC set to be sold
Foot Mercato understands that Le Havre AC has been sold to new owners. Recently, the club's president, Jean-Michel Roussier, had evoked the potential sale of the Normand side. As per Foot Mercato, there have been talks for some time regarding the sale of Le Havre. However, those talks have accelerated significantly in recent hours, to the point that a deal to sell the club has now been concluded. The deal comes just days ahead of Le Havre's meeting with the DNCG, French football's financial watchdog. The club must currently make up a deficit worth €15m. Advertisement Whilst the identity of the buyer is yet to be revealed, Foot Mercato refers to talks with Houston-based Blue Crow. Incidentally, HAC's current owner, Vincent Volpe, splits his time between Le Havre and the Texan city. Those talks have been ongoing for several weeks. Blue Crow also own Léganès and Cancún FC, notably. However, other investors have also recently signalled an interest in buying the club, renowned for their academy, and who recently secured their safety in Ligue 1 thanks to a last-gasp win over RC Strasbourg Alsace on the final day of the season.
