St. Vincent promotes organ donation for Donate Life Month
One local hospital is celebrating the life-saving importance of Donate Life Month.
Wednesday morning AHN Saint Vincent promoted awareness of donating organs, acknowledging those who have donated and thanking their transplant physicians.

According to the Center for Organ Recovery and Education, there are over 100,000 people in the country waiting for a life-saving transplant.
One organ donor can save the lives of as many as eight people and as many as 75 through tissue donation.
'You live vicariously through people no matter who you touch you could speak to them and it could touch their hearts you could give them a heart and it will change their lives,' said Leannah Schwab whose sister donated organs.

'We are just trying to acknowledge that there are people with chronic conditions and we know that this is the step that is necessary to sustain their lives,' said Dr. Christopher Clark, president of AHN St. Vincent.
2024 Was the sixth strait year for record-breaking organ donation for CORE.
