Angel Reese named NBA 2K26 cover athlete along with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Carmelo Anthony
Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is adding one more accolade to her already impressive resume by being a cover athlete for NBA 2K26's WNBA Edition. She joins Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Carmelo Anthony as this year's cover stars. In a press release from 2K, it was announced that the WNBA Edition, featuring Reese, will be available as a GameStop-exclusive physical edition in the United States on September 5. Reese, Anthony and Gilgeous-Alexander will also share the cover for the game's Leave No Doubt Edition. Advertisement On her selection for the cover, Reese stated: Being on the cover of NBA 2K26 and debuting my first-ever signature shoe with Reebok on that cover, the Angel Reese 1, is more than a milestone—it's a statement. It's about representation and showing young girls they can be confident, bold, and take up space unapologetically. To be cemented in NBA 2K history is a special honor that reflects not only my journey, but also all the veteran WNBA players who have paved the way before me and the growing impact of the league as a whole. The former LSU Tiger joins Candace Parker, Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird, Sabrina Ionescu, and A'ja Wilson as WNBA stars who have made the cover of the popular video game. Reese quickly made waves in the WNBA after entering the league in the same class as her collegiate rival, Caitlin Clark. As a rookie, Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds, leading the league in boards. She closed out her debut season with a spot in the All-Rookie First Team and an All-Star selection. This season, Reese is averaging a double-double once more with 13.2 points and 12.9 rebounds per game. She was recently given her second All-Star nod, representing Napheesa Collier's team as a reserve. She currently holds a WNBA record of six consecutive games with 15+ rebounds.
