Netflix's 'Squid Game' Season 3 Official Trailer Is All About Life-Or-Death Choices

Summary Netflixhas released the official trailer for the highly anticipated third and final season ofSquid Game. The first full-length trailer for the series was unveiled at Netflix Tudum 2025, following theinitial teaserrevealed in early May. The trailer and official synopsis confirm the continuation of the intense conflict between protagonist Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) and the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun). It shows Gi-hun returning to the games, seemingly at his lowest point, while new and deadlier games commence, including a gumball machine game that divides players into red and blue teams. The cast, including Wi Ha-jun, Im Si-wan, and Kang Ha-neul, are all set to return, with the series creators promising a shocking conclusion to Gi-hun's journey. The creatorHwang Dong-hyuktellsTudum, 'The new season will focus on what Gi-hun can and will do after all his efforts fail. He is in utter despair after losing everything and watching all his efforts go in vain. The story then takes an interesting turn, questioning whether Gi-hun can overcome his shame and rise again to prove that values of humanity — like conscience and kindness — can exist in the arena.' The third season picks up right after the Season 2 finale, which saw Gi-hun lead a rebellion against the puppet masters of Squid Game. Unfortunately, the coup failed and many died in the process. The final season is officially set to premiere globally on Netflix on June 27, 2025. This relatively short wait between seasons is due to seasons 2 and 3 reportedly being filmed simultaneously.

‘Stranger Things' Premiere Dates Revealed for 'Blockbuster' Final Season

Netflix has finally revealed when the long-awaited and fifth and final season of Stranger Things will debut. The streamer announced the final season of the coming-of-age sci-fi hit will air in three parts late this year. The first will premiere Nov. 26, followed by part two on Christmas and the series finale on New Year's Eve. More from The Hollywood Reporter 'Squid Game' Star Lee Jung-jae Is Happy With How Series Ends But Is "Very Nervous" For Fan Reaction Netflix's 'Wednesday' Releases First Six Minutes of Season 2, Officially Confirms Lady Gaga Guest Role Adam Sandler Swings Away in Full 'Happy Gilmore 2' Trailer - With One Classic Throwback Line The news was announced at Netflix's Tudum fan event at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles Saturday, with stars Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp running through some look-back clips before revealing the dates for season five via a teaser (watch it below). Back in January, Ross Duffer said about the final episodes, 'We spent a full year filming this season. By the end, we'd captured over 650 hours of footage. So, needless to say, this is our biggest and most ambitious season yet. It's like eight blockbuster movies. It's pretty insane.' Matt Duffer added, 'At the same time, we think it's our most personal story. It was super intense and emotional to film — for us and for our actors. We've been making this show together for almost 10 years. There was a lot of crying. There was so much crying. The show means so much to all of us, and everyone put their hearts and souls into it. And we hope — and believe — that passion will translate to the screen.' In November, Netflix announced the season five episode titles to tease the story arc of the season: 'The Crawl,' 'The Vanishing of [censored for now]' 'The Turnbow Trap,' 'Sorcerer,' 'Shock Jock,' 'Escape From Camazotz,' 'The Bridge' and 'The Rightside Up.' The plan is also to have a bit of a time jump going into the final episodes. 'I'm sure we will do a time jump,' Ross told TVLine. 'Ideally, we'd have shot [seasons four and five] back to back, but there was just no feasible way to do that. So these are all discussions we're going to have with our writers when we start the room up.' Netflix has confirmed that the show would jump a little over a year to the fall of 1987, after season four took place in March 1986. The creators have also previously teased upcoming projects in the Stranger Things universe. 'There are more Stranger Things stories to tell and in the works,' Matt said. 'It's a bit early at this point to talk about them, but we're deeply involved in every one — it's very important to us that anything with the Stranger Things name on it is of the highest quality and not repetitive — that it has a reason to exist and always blazes its own path. And also, it needs to basically just be … awesome. Or we need to think it's awesome. And there are a lot of what we think are awesome things in the pipeline.' Stranger Things stars Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Priah Ferguson, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Maya Hawke, Joe Keery, David Harbour, Winona Ryder and Brett Gelman. Netflix reveals details about Lady Gaga on ‘Wednesday,' ‘Squid Game' and ‘Stranger Things' finales

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Netflix flexed its Hollywood star power with a live event where it unveiled details about its upcoming slate of streaming offerings, including Lady Gaga being cast as a teacher on 'Wednesday,' and release dates for the final episodes of hits 'Squid Game' and 'Stranger Things.' The streaming giant assembled actors including Jenna Ortega, Oscar Isaac, Lee Jung-jae, Drew Starkey, Sofia Carson, Kerry Washington, Steven Yeun, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck for its annual Tudum event Saturday in Inglewood, Calif. Musical performances bookended the show, with Hanumankind opening with 'Run It Up' and Gaga closing with a medley and the announcement of her latest acting gig. The event is named 'Tudum' after the audio cue that accompanies the Netflix's N logo in its trailers and at the start of its programming. A bloody trailer for the final season of 'Squid Game' accompanied the announcement that the show's third season will begin streaming June 27. The South Korean series about a brutal competition where adults face death while playing children's games was one of the pandemic's breakout hits and made an international star of Lee Jung-jae, who became the first Asian man to win an Emmy for best drama actor. The fifth and final season of 'Stranger Things' will be parceled out over the winter holidays, with four episodes dropping Nov. 26, three more on Christmas Day and the series finale premiering New Year's Eve. A new trailer highlights the history of the Duffer brothers' nostalgia-soaked sci-fi, which over the past nine years has made stars out of Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour and Finn Wolfhard. The trailer teases a final confrontation with Vecna, concluding with Noah Schnapp's Will Byers' character yelling 'RUN!' Netflix unveiled the first six minutes of the second season of 'Wednesday,' featuring Ortega's Wednesday Addams getting a helping hand from Thing as she confronts a serial killer played by Haley Joel Osment. Gaga's first acting gig since last year's 'Joker: Folie a Deux' will be playing teacher Rosaline Rotwood at Addams' school Nevermore. The first part of 'Wednesday' season 2 lands on Aug. 6, and the second half will be released Sept. 3.
