Govt doctors' legal panel calls for march
Chennai: Legal Coordination Committee (LCC) for govt doctors will begin a march from Salem to Chennai on June 11, urging chief minister
to act on long-ignored demands, which include the implementation of Pay Band 4, a system that ensures a fair salary hike for govt doctors and nurses, the GO No.

"We just want the govt to pay us our salaries in accordance with the GO. Despite letters to CM cell, health minister, and MLAs, our pleas have fallen on deaf ears," said Dr S Perumal Pillai, president of LCC.
Last year, Madras high court delivered a verdict in favour of the govt doctors, but to no avail. "We have decided to march from Dr Lakshmi Narasimhan's Memorial in Mettur all the way to Kalaignar Memorial in Chennai," he added.
Speaking to TOI, health minister Ma Subramanian said, "I'm not aware of LCC's demands, nor did anyone approach my office. We can look into it if they give us a list of requests."
