Live-Action 'Street Fighter' Film Reportedly Eyeing Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns and More to Join Cast
Summary Legendary Pictures' live-actionStreet Fighteris well on its way with new reports of casting. According toDeadline, the studio is eyeing four big names includingBullet Train's Andrew Koji,Aquaman'sJason Momoa,The Recruit'sNoah CentineoandWWEsuperstarRoman Reigns. The studio is currently in the process of negotiations with these four, but has yet to confirm the four major roles. Speculation suggests that Andrew Koji is being eyed for Ryu, Noah Centineo for Ken, Roman Reigns for Akuma and Jason Momoa for Blanka. Kitao Sakurai has been confirmed to direct the film, taking over from Danny and Michael Philippou who exited in 2024. The film was originally targeted to release on March 20, 2026, however, it has reportedly been pulled from Sony's schedule. The new official date has yet to be announced but Legendary is said to still be working towards a date in 2026. So far, there have been no details regarding the plot for the film adaptation. Legendary originally announced plans to develop the film in 2023 when it confirmed the acquisition of the rights to Capcom's classic fighting game.

‘Godzilla X Kong' Sequel Gets ‘Supernova' Title as It Begins Production for 2027 Release
The next chapter in Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' Monsterverse has officially been revealed. The sequel to 'Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire' will be called 'Godzilla X Kong: Supernova,' the company announced Friday along with the news that the film has entered production. It will release in theaters on March 26, 2027. A short teaser video was also released. It shows an office for Monarch, the shadowy organization that tracks the gigantic, city-destroying monsters called Titans, where a computer gives a real-life hotline that fans can call to receive an automated message. The phone number, appropriately is (240) MON-ARCH, which translates to 240-666-2724. 'Thank you for calling the Monarch Community Support Hotline, your global resource for Titan response and relief. Your help reporting Titan sightings plays a critical role in keeping our world safe,' the call says. 'Supernova' is the sixth movie in the popular Monsterverse franchise, following the success of 2024's 'Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire.' For the human cast, Dan Stevens reprises his role as Trapper, and newcomers include Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O'Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine, Alycia Debnam-Carey and Sam Neill. The teaser doesn't reveal much, but it shows a call coming in from Sedona, Arizona. Diehard fans will remember that Sedona was the city where the spider-legged monster Scylla was awakened from in 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' when the three-headed dragon King Ghidorah summoned Titans from all over the world to fight Godzilla. In other fun details, there's a Godzilla bobblehead and a mug that says 'Keep Kong and Carry On' on the desk in the video. Here's some good news before CinemaCon amid an awful box office weekend: Fandango reports that Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' upcoming video game adaptation film, A Minecraft Movie, is their best PG-rated ticket pre-seller of 2025. The movie, which opens April 4, is expected to do $60M+ and its awareness is best with females under 35 (62) and males under 35 (66) per tracking service Quorum. Those also remain the two hottest demos who'll pay to see the movie in a theater.
