Germany Sees Sharp Rise in Migrant Deportations in 2025

Israa Farhan Germany has reported a significant increase in migrant deportations, with over 11,800 forced returns carried out in the first half of 2025 alone, according to data released by the Interior Ministry. The figures, disclosed in response to a parliamentary inquiry by Leif-Erik Holm of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, mark a substantial rise from around 9,500 deportations during the same period in 2024. That year, a total of more than 20,000 deportations were conducted, the highest number recorded in recent years. The Interior Ministry's report reflects an accelerating trend as German authorities adopt a firmer stance on migration enforcement. The growing number of removals follows mounting political pressure to streamline deportation procedures and address overstays more effectively. Earlier this month, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt joined counterparts from Austria, Denmark, France, the Czech Republic, and Poland in calling for stricter migration and asylum policies. In a joint statement, the ministers emphasized the need for effective returns to maintain public confidence in Europe's immigration system. The coordinated push for tighter controls comes amid ongoing challenges across the EU, including growing asylum applications, increasing irregular migration, and political tensions over responsibility-sharing. German officials have indicated that further legislative and operational reforms are likely, as the government seeks to reinforce its migration framework and align more closely with broader European efforts. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks
