Fear of God recruits Catherine Jacquet as director of operations
Fear of God takes on a French accent. Last September, the Californian menswear brand, a blend of tailoring and streetwear inspirations, popular with American music and basketball stars, recruited the former General Manager of Jacquemus, Rabanne and Lemaire, Bastien Daguzan. He brings his expertise with the aim of reinforcing founder Jerry Lorenzo's creative vision and structuring the brand for the long term. To achieve this, the CEO called on an expert in the premium and luxury sectors: Catherine Jacquet. General manager of Maison Michel, a milliner part of the Chanel galaxy, between 2014 and 2018, general manager of the high-end Parisian brand Lemaire from 2019 to 2022 and having advised numerous premium brands and designers on their structuring, the executive has been supporting the brand since the beginning of the year and has been appointed Director of Operations. Fear of God, founded in 2013, currently relies on a main line in which beautiful sleeved pieces combine with ample suits in Italian fabrics and rub shoulders with denim and knitwear, with a more casual spirit. The brand also offers a second line, christened "Essentials," composed of more accessible basics with T-shirts and hoodies, mostly plain. In fact, it was around a collaboration between the NBA and this line initiated in 2018 that the label, which is said to generate sales of between 150 and 200 million euros, was present in Paris during the last Men's Fashion Week. The brand has also signed an agreement with Adidas for the development of a technical line, with sneaker launches starting in 2021. With a presence in over a hundred retailers, the brand has also grown in department store networks, notably with corners at Nordstrom and Selfridges. The brand, whose primary markets are the United States and Great Britain, is increasingly taking care of its image. It has asserted its premium positioning with Zegna. And it plays on the fluidity of its wardrobe, dressing more and more women in its campaigns with its pieces exploited for oversize silhouettes.

adidas Originals 有望推出全新芭蕾舞鞋款 Stan Smith Low Ballet
Every Now & Then x New Balance Fresh Foam X RCVRY 聯名拖鞋

Take a Look Inside Lemaire's First China Boutique in Chengdu
Summary Lemaire's first boutique in China, located in Chengdu's Taikoo Li district, is a masterful blend of tranquility and cultural heritage. Designed byF.O.G. Architecture, this 140-square-meter space opts for a recessed façade that creates a buffer zone between the bustling shopping center and the serene interior. This entryway, adorned with movable potted plants housed in traditional Sichuan sauce jars, echoes the under-eaves spaces of classical Chinese architecture, offering visitors a ritualistic passage into the store's immersive environment. Materiality plays a central role in the store's design, with local bamboo serving as a recurring motif throughout the space. From bamboo flooring and curtains to stone textures that mimic woven bamboo, the design balances authenticity and abstraction in its architectural narrative. Traditional Sichuan crafts are thoughtfully integrated, showcasing collaborative efforts between the architects, local artists and regional artisans. Examples include Yi-made Cha'erwa wool shawls that are repurposed as curtain panels and woven Cizhu bamboo door handles. This fusion of local craftsmanship and global aesthetics ensures the boutique remains contextually authentic while aligning with Lemaire's minimalist design philosophy. Moroccan Bejmat tiles, a distinctive signature element frequently used by Lemaire, are incorporated into the design, referencing the subtle greyscale tones found in traditional Chinese masonry. This choice further enhances the boutique's harmonious interplay of diverse materials. Architectural details within the space also derive inspiration from local historical structures. For instance, baseboards are reimagined from the wooden thresholds of the Du Fu Thatched Cottage, transforming them into soft and fluid transitions between different surfaces. The store's serene atmosphere is reinforced by its thoughtful spatial organization, which subtly integrates technical ingenuity into its design. Vertical boards are discreetly embedded within door frames, while gaps left on both sides of the threshold imply their presence without disrupting the visual flow. The extended lintel above the entrance doubles as a wooden hanging bar, elegantly displaying apparel while maintaining the boutique's understated aesthetic. Admire Daytona grabs Kentucky ticket with tight UAE Derby win
Japan's recent dominance in the UAE Derby continued as Admire Daytona scraped home from Heart Of Honor in a thrilling photo-finish, earning himself a berth in the Kentucky Derby. The son of triple Grade 1 winner Drefong made all of the running but was pushed to the limit in the closing stages and only just held on by a short-head. The victory marked Japan's third consecutive win in the race following the strikes of Crown Pride, Derma Sotogake and the exceptional Forever Young last year. Admire Daytona was sent to the front by Christophe Lemaire from the gates but was pursued by Rafid, with Galactic Star a close third. There was a break to the remainder of the field. Both Heart Of Honor and Don In The Mood made up that group and the pair improved into the home turn as Admire Daytona came under pressure. The trio were locked in battle in the final furlong, with Don In The Mood on the outside the first to weaken under last year's winning rider Ryusei Sakai. For a brief moment it looked as if his countryman Admire Daytona would have to yield too as the blinkered Heart Of Honor produced a right-handed rally in the final strides. However, the Japanese colt responded willingly to Lemaire's urgings to score, prompting joyous celebrations for the Japanese contingent and agony for the British runner. Heart Of Honor's trainer Jamie Osborne won the race in 2014 with Toast Of New York, who was denied in his own photo-finish to the Breeders' Cup Classic that November. This time his daughter Saffie Osborne, who in February became the first woman to win a race at Meydan, was in the saddle. Lemaire said: 'Honestly, I thought I'd won but it was very tight so you never get too happy, too early. The Japanese horses come here with quite a bit of experience at home. For us, they arrive near their best this early in the season - not too much racing but also with plenty of experience. I think they like the Meydan dirt track too. For sure he can go to Kentucky, but it is such a difficult race to win. It is one of the most iconic races in the world and we have to go if we can.' Trainer Yukihiro Kato confirmed that Admire Daytona would go to the Kentucky Derby, with last year's UAE Derby winner Forever Young finishing third at Churchill Downs. Heart Of Honor has been out in the UAE all season, winning twice and taking second in both the UAE 2000 Guineas and the Al Bastakiya. Saffie has ridden at the Dubai World Cup meeting twice before but this was her biggest opportunity yet. In February 2024 she became the first female jockey to ride a winner at Meydan. Trainer Jamie Osborne reflected on the narrow defeat with a bittersweet mix of pride and pain: 'Heart Of Honor has delivered the performance of his life — an absolute career-best — and as a trainer, that's what you strive for, what you live for. 'You have to be proud when a horse gives you everything, and he did just that tonight. But to come so agonisingly close, only to miss out by the slimmest of margins... that's a tough one to swallow. It hurts, no doubt about it. Still, he proved today he belongs on the big stage, and we'll be back.'
