At Tech World Shanghai 2025, Lenovo announced the launch of the Lenovo Legion 9i (18', 10), a powerful gaming laptop designed for both gamers and developers.
The company revealed that the new device delivers top-tier performance and advanced AI features. It caters to players, creators, and professionals working with real-time 3D tools like Unreal Engine.
Jun Ouyang, Lenovo's Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Consumer Segment, Intelligent Devices Group, stated that the Legion 9i sets a new standard in gaming. It combines high-end hardware with next-generation AI software to meet the needs of modern users.
The 18-inch PureSight display supports up to 4K in 2D and optional 2K in 3D. The 3D function works without a headset, using eye-tracking and lenticular lens technology. The device also offers Dual Mode display, enabling up to a 440Hz refresh rate at FHD.
Lenovo reported that over 50% of upcoming games are developed on Unreal Engine, and the Legion 9i is optimized to support such workflows. It features the Lenovo AI Core chip and AI Engine+ to automatically optimize performance.
The laptop also supports Lenovo Legion Space, a software suite that syncs lighting with in-game sounds, includes AI-driven game coaching, and enables game clip sharing and live assistance.
For creative professionals, the device offers: Up to 192GB dual-channel DDR5 RAM
Up to 8TB SSD storage, including PCIe Gen 5 support
Powered by the Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 275HX processor and up to NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5090 GPU, the Legion 9i provides a combined 280W CPU-GPU load.
To ensure thermal efficiency, Lenovo included the Legion Coldfront Vapor system with quad fans and dedicated cooling for SSD, RAM, and Wi-Fi.
The top cover features handcrafted aviation-grade carbon fiber, making each laptop unique and lightweight. Connectivity options include rear HDMI and DC-in ports, plus Thunderbolt 5 ports on the left.
The laptop will be showcased at Unreal Fest in Orlando, Florida, starting June 2.
Lenovo also announced a matching accessory, the Legion 18' Armored Backpack II. It includes padded compartments, quick-access pockets, and ergonomic design.
Additional benefits include: Three months of complimentary PC Game Pass
