It really is a win-win. My partner and I were collected from Seaford in East Sussex and transported to the Cornwall surfer spot of Newquay. Pick-up was on time, our driver was smart and friendly and our luggage was stowed safely for us and delivered straight to our room at the Barrowfield Hotel. Journey times can be long, but Daish's ensures that customers are comfortable, with regular stops at service stations along the way. Our hotel, like many of Daish's properties, was in a super-convenient position for a holiday without a car. We were within walking distance of the town and beach and there was a bus stop opposite that serves several routes as well as a little hop-on-hop-off tourist train which runs every hour. We hopped on and made our way to Newquay's fishing harbour, where tiny, weathered boats bobbed on the water and dozens of quaint houses lined the cliff edges. Make sure to pick up a famous Roskilly's Cornish ice cream while you're here. We tucked into ours overlooking fabulous sandy coves with only the sound of waves crashing below and the crunching of our ice cream cones. Bliss. The seagulls didn't dare to steal them, although they certainly thought about it. Famous as a surfing hub, Newquay's shores have swimming and surfing areas marked by flags. A few minutes' walk from the hotel, a long, windy path leads down to Tolcarne beach, which is breathtakingly beautiful, although the 130-step climb to the promenade can be challenging. A little further afield sits the picture-postcard little port of Padstow, which is just over an hour away by the No 56 bus, which can be picked up just outside the hotel. The journey there was an experience in itself – we nabbed top-deck seats and were able to catch views of Cornwall's little coves in the glorious sunshine as we wound our way along coastal roads. A super fishy lunch in Padstow, and another ice cream overlooking the pretty harbour made for a blissful afternoon. GO: NEWQUAY GETTING/STAYING THERE: A four-night coach break to Cornwall costs from £199, based on two people sharing a standard room. Self-drive options are available from £179. Three-course evening meals and coffees are served to Daish's guests at 6.30pm with impressive efficiency. The only downside was that I found it all a bit too rushed, and dinner was over by 7.30pm – although many guests seemed to like this, as it meant they had plenty of time to then enjoy the evening entertainment. From 9pm, guests can get stuck into bingo and quizzes, then from 10pm musical entertainment takes to the stage. 3 Our hotel, like many of Daish's properties, was in a super-convenient position for a holiday without a car Credit: Supplied 3 During the day, the hotel is a great place to kick back and relax too, thanks to an indoor swimming pool Credit: Supplied Most of the performers were excellent and encouraged guests up on to the dance floor. Linda Robson enjoys star-studded holiday with celebrity pals Bruno Tonioli, Lesley Joseph, Claire Sweeney and Charlie Brooks in Mallorca

Linda Robson looked in good spirits as she enjoyed a star-studded holiday with Lesley Joseph, Bruno Tonioli, Claire Sweeney and Charlie Brooks in Mallorca. The Loose Women star, 67, took to Instagram on Wednesday and shared several snaps of her sun-soaked trip wit her pals. In one photo, she relaxed by the pool alongside former Strictly judge Bruno, 69, and her Birds Of A Feather co-star Lesley, 79. In another, the group all beamed from ear to ear as they enjoyed lunch together. Other snaps saw Linda and Lesley linking arms going down a set of steps while another saw Linda enjoying a drink at the Club Pollenca venue. Alongside the post, she wrote: 'Had an amazing trip to Majorca thanks @jwponstage for a wonderful days with lovely friends ❤️'. The holiday comes after Bruno reportedly 'quit' Britain's Got Talent as a judge after two seasons on the ITV show. It has now been suggested that singer and boxing star KSI is in discussions to take over the position, according to The Sun. Bruno, 69, who previously judged Strictly Come Dancing, joined BGT in 2023 following David Walliams ' departure. Despite reported efforts from show boss Simon Cowell, 65, to convince him to remain, conflicting commitments with Bruno' Dancing With The Stars gig in the US are said to have made it impossible to continue. A source told the publication: 'Bruno has officially quit Britain's Got Talent and they are hoping that KSI will replace him. 'He absolutely loved being on the panel with Simon, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden but Bruno just can't juggle his schedule with filming. 'There is no bad blood and Bruno is leaving with a smile on his face.' MailOnline has contacted Bruno's representatives for comment. Sources close to the situation have confirmed the line-up for next year is still purely speculation. KSI, who stood in on the most recent series as a guest judge, won viewers hearts on the latest series. Previously addressing chatter about KSI to become a permanent judge, Bruno showed he wasn't phased. He said: 'We're both young, attractive, multi-talented stars known the world over. 'Joking aside, I think KSI is fantastic — a real charming man full of energy. We attended the BRITs together too, which was a fabulous evening.'

Celebrity contestant on The Chase says there was one thing he really wasn't expecting

More info Judge Jules revealed that his experience on The Chase Celebrity special was slightly less daunting due to his familiarisation with the Elstree Studios. The renowned DJ appeared alongside other notable personalities, including Lesley Joseph, Jenni Falconer, and Patrick Kielty, on the ITV special. The team faced off against Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace in intense rounds, ultimately leading to all four celebrities participating in the final chase. During this round, they successfully outsmarted Wallace, securing a total of £200,000 to be divided among their chosen charities. However, while some might crack under the pressure of the ITV quiz show, 58 year old lawyer and DJ Judge Jules confessed he didn't feel overly anxious. "I'm not nervous in my normal activities, before I go on the decks or anything else related to the music business," he told the Mirror. The strange thing was, it's filmed in Elstree Studios where EastEnders is filmed, or it was when I did it anyway. My dad (Shaun O'Riordan) worked there his entire working life, so I'd been to those studios multiple times - my dad was a TV director so I think maybe that eased off the pressure a little bit." (Image: ITV) (Image: ITV) (Image: Supplied) Judge Jules' prior visits to the studios, where his father worked as a TV director, may have contributed to his relatively calm demeanour during the show. Jules, all set to command the decks across the UK and Balearics this summer, divulged: "It's fast moving, you meet three others who you've never met before, all of you are there for a common purpose, it's quite comedial backstage but at the same time, it's more the alien environment", reports the Express. He recounted how he adjusted to unfamiliar territory: "When you're experienced in one area and suddenly you're thrust into this alien environment, it makes it more nervous. We earned a chunk of money for charity, which was great. It was £200,00, so it was quite a lot." Catch The Chase every weekday on ITV, kicking off at 5pm.

ITV This Morning star 'taking a year off' after being left 'exhausted'

This Morning presenter Alison Hammond spoke to Alexandra Burke and Lesley Joseph about the impact of performing live as the two stage stars head on tour. On a recent instalment of This Morning, ITV's well-loved Alison Hammond shared that she'll be taking a breather from her hectic career schedule. In conversation with Alexandra Burke and Lesley Joseph about their upcoming musical tour, The Addams Family, the famed presenter shed light on the demanding nature of live performances. ‌ As Alexandra gave insight into the intense routine of touring, where performers can take on up to a dozen shows a week, she said: "You don't really get a life outside of it, but that's ok because you're entertaining other people." ‌ Lesley, turning towards Alison, commented: "We're looking at the panto Queen! Birmingham. Three panto Queens sitting on the sofa." Alison admitted: "But the thing is, you've been doing it year after year. I'm having a year off because I was so exhausted from last year and the year before. It is a discipline." The theatre enthusiast Lesley Joseph emphasised her adoration for pantomime, underlining the unique family atmosphere it creates, reports Wales Online. She said: "The whole family comes and it's the one time in the year that anybody, grandma down to the youngest children can come and really love it. You know, you've done it now." Echoing Lesley's sentiments, Alison then discussed how cast members bond like a true family through the numerous hours spent together. ‌ Previously, audiences were captivated as Alison dazzled as the Magical Mermaid in Birmingham's Hippodrome Theatre's Peter Pan pantomime, even sharing behind-the-scenes moments with This Morning viewers before hitting the stage. At the time Alison wore her stage costume and shared her most cherished aspect of being in the play. She revealed: "Do you remember last year when lovely Dermot (O'Leary) and the whole team brought me a wonderful chair with the plaque of my mum's name on it? ‌ "It's dead centre in the middle of the stage and literally, it's like I'm performing to my mum. It means the world to me, it's beautiful. It's lovely to be back. "I look at the person (in the seat, the person thinks I'm looking at them, I'm not! I'm seeing my mum!". The TV favourite lost her mum Maria in January 2020 to lung and liver cancer, and just months later, she faced the heartbreak of her father Clifford's also dying.
