Five could release documentary film on reunion tour

Five fans could get a behind-the-scenes documentary film about the reunion. Earlier this year, the group - comprised of Abz Love, Jason 'J' Brown, Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson and Sean Conlon – announced they were back together as a five-piece for the first time in 25 years and are heading out on the 'Keep On Movin' Tour' in late 2025. Demand for the shows and interest in the reunion has been huge. The guys have been filming everything related to the reunion so far and will be capturing the backstage and on-stage moments when the tour kicks off and that footage could end up as a documentary charting their comeback. Speaking to BANG Showbiz, Scott said: 'Behind the curtain is what people like. 'The people that come to your concerts, yes they want to see your music, they also want to see what goes on backstage. We're filming bits and bobs for our memories as well. It's so nice to look back on these moments and capture these moments because that's what people want to see, the real stuff that goes on.' When asked if the footage could become a documentary film, he added: 'We're open to it. I think it would be amazing to do something like that. 'I think people need to see it.' Jason added: 'The so called off-camera, behind-the-scenes stuff is what we're all about. Capturing that stuff gives people a really good insight into us.' One special moment fans can look forward to on the tour is that at the concerts it will be the first time all five members have performed their 2001 number one single 'Let's Dance' together. Back in 2001, Sean needed to take time out from Five due to a stress induced breakdown and he was replaced in the video with a life-size cardboard cut-out in the video for the song. The track would be their last number one before they split at the end of the year. Sean's mother has told him that she cannot wait to see all five band members perform the song together. Sean said: "My mum actually said this, she said, 'I want to see all five of you perform 'Let's Dance'." Five kick off their 'Keep On Movin' Tour' on Friday, October 31 at the Brighton Centre.

Benicio del Toro treasures his signed copy of David Bowie film The Man Who Fell To Earth

Benicio del Toro says a signed copy of David Bowie's film 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' is one of his most treasured possessions. The 58-year-old actor is a Bowie super-fan and he was once lucky enough to work with the late rock legend on the 1996 film 'Basquiat', which is about the life of American postmodernist/neo expressionist artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Benicio owned the 1976 science-fiction film 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' - which stars Bowie as alien Thomas Jerome Newton who is on a mission to transport water back to his drought-suffering home planet - and had to get his musical hero to add his signature to his copy. Appearing on the 'Soundtracking with Edith Bowman' podcast, he said: "My introduction to Bowie was 'Let's Dance' and on the other album that had 'Blue Jean', the follow-up, but I've always admired him. "But I do remember, you know, I had a laser disc of 'The Man Who Fell to Earth', I love that movie. Well, he did sign the laser disc for me. And I, I really treasure that, you know? It was like, I don't know, I had this thing of going, like, 'Hey, you gotta sign this.' And it was just very gentle. 'I just love that album 'Live Santa Monica '72' and 'Station to Station', 'Low'. "He had a lot of, like, you know crowd rock with Brian Eno. They had a lot of stuff going on." When working on 'Basquiat' with Bowie - who played pop artist Andy Warhol in the movie - Benicio admits it was a surreal moment being face-to-face with his idol. In a previous interview with UPROXX, Benicio - who can be seen in Wes Anderson's new film 'The Phoenician Scheme' - said: "I remember walking into the makeup trailer, and there he was. And he just sat right next to me. He was very normal. Very normal, very polite. I was just like beside myself sitting there looking at myself and going like, 'Can you believe it?' Looking at myself in the mirror, I'm sitting right next to David Bowie. But you know, he signed some things for me."

Turnstile Unveil New Songs 'Seein' Stars' (Featuring Hayley Williams) and 'Birds': Stream

The post Turnstile Unveil New Songs 'Seein' Stars' (Featuring Hayley Williams) and 'Birds': Stream appeared first on Consequence. Turnstile have released two new songs, 'Seein' Stars' and 'Birds,' from their upcoming album, NEVER ENOUGH, along with a seamless music video for both tracks. The double single showcases the two sides of the band's sound. 'Seein' Stars' is the softer pop song, with guest vocals from some well-known singers — Devonté Hynes (Blood Orange) and Hayley Williams (Paramore) — and a disco-esque guitar riff that conjures up David Bowie's 'Let's Dance.' Get Turnstile Tickets Here Meanwhile, 'Birds' is a two-minute sprint that sees Turnstile in full mosh mode — a reminder they can still dish out some potent hardcore. The accompanying music video, directed by singer Brendan Yates and guitarist Pat McCrory, artfully bridges the disparate tracks like a short film. The clip for 'Seein' Stars' is appropriately more lilting and chill, whereas the 'Birds' portion is an energetic performance video, albeit with some stylized cinematography — particularly during the drum solo that bridges the two songs. We've now heard three singles from NEVER ENOUGH following the release of the title track earlier this month — a Heavy Song of the Week selection. The highly anticipated LP marks Turnstile's first album with new guitarist Meg Mills, with the rest of the lineup rounded out by Yates, McCrory, bassist Franz Lyons, and drummer Daniel Fang. So far, no headlining US tour dates have been announced in support of the album's release, although Turnstile have several European and UK festivals lined up for June, followed by the Ottawa Blues Festival in July and the Aftershock festival in Sacramento in October. Why David Bowie slept on platform at Stockport train station

As commuters pass through Stockport railway station, many of them will not ever realise that they could be waiting for a train on a platform with a claim to fame like no is because 55 years earlier, it was graced by none other than singer David five star hotels, the Ziggy Stardust performer spent the entire night under the stars (sort of) in Greater a plaque is being unveiled to commemorate the exact moment Bowie missed his last train home after a sell-out at the Poco A Poco club in Heaton Chapel on 27 April the trio who booked David Bowie for a gig as sixth-formers have been reminiscing on the "incredible" Acton, 72, admits she had never heard of Bowie when the Stockport Schools Student Union (SSU) booked him, while Bill Frost recalled being called out of class when Bowie's agent called the school office to rearrange the gig. Ms Acton said of the artist, who went on to global success with hits including Let's Dance, Changes, Space Oddity, Starman, Modern Love, Heroes, Under Pressure, Rebel Rebel and Life on Mars, "To be quite honest I didn't know who David Bowie was. "That sounds incredible but I hadn't got a clue who he was and the boys said we'll book him." Ms Acton added she soon became a fan of the singer, though."He was drop-dead gorgeous," she Frost, the chairman of the SSU at the time, knew all too well Bowie was on the verge of stardom, though."It was an amazing do," the 73-year-old told BBC North West Tonight. "It was incredible."I remember sitting at the back thinking 'good grief we've put David Bowie on in a concert'."Mr Frost recalls Bowie costing "about £120" to book at the time and remembers leaving class to speak to Bowie's agent. "One of the school secretaries came and knocked on the door and said 'there's somebody on the phone for you, something to do with David Bowie'."It was David Bowie's agent asking us if we could we change the date of the concert because they could not come up to Stockport on that day." Mike McCormack said: "It just all went by us and then in later life and David Bowie became massive."The 72-year-old said people are amazed when he tells them he was part of putting a Bowie concert on. It often leads to handshakes - and sometimes a Acton said it was "great times"."We had no fear. We just thought we could do anything and we did."It was a fantastic time," she added. Bowie, who died in 2016 aged 69, ended up missing his last train to London after the gig famous night in 1970 is being marked at the station with a Stockport Music Story commemorative plaque, the tenth one in the town. John Barratt of the Stockport Music Story said this latest plaque was "very special because I'm a lifelong David Bowie fan". "He was recording The Man Who Sold the World album during the time he came up for the gig and that album and then obviously Ziggy Stardust just launched him as a global superstar," he said."The fact that he was booked by a group for Stockport teenagers on his rise to fame I think deserves commemorating."
