Harry Hamlin celebrates one year of sobriety
Harry Hamlin is celebrating one year of sobriety. The 73-year-old actor - who is married to reality TV star Lisa Rinna - has revealed that he hasn't drunk any alcohol since 2024. Speaking on the Let's Not Talk About the Husband podcast, Harry shared: "Today's one year. It wasn't that big of a deal, but I decided to not use alcohol again." Harry has actually lost "a considerable amount of weight" since he quit drinking and started intermittent fasting. The actor - who has been married to Lisa since 1997 - suggested that he's actually been happier and healthier since he stopped drinking. He said: "It was not difficult for me at all. "I'm very happy [not drinking]. I was always tempted to have a glass of wine in the evening, have some liquor to go to sleep." Harry has quit drinking before, including a four-year spell of sobriety in the 2010s, and he even joined Alcoholics Anonymous at one point in time. The actor thinks he really benefited from his experience with Alcoholics Anonymous. He said: "Everybody should do the programme. One of the greatest gifts that I ever got was doing that for that four-year period." Harry's two brothers were both alcoholics, and so he's always been very conscious of his own drinking habits. He reflected: "It is what it is. It's not that big a deal in my life, by the way. For a lot of people, stopping drinking is a huge deal. For me, it's something I'm happy about doing." Meanwhile, Harry previously revealed that respect and support have been key to his marriage to Lisa. He told Us Weekly: "If we could bottle and sell it, that would be good. I don't think anybody knows. It comes down to listening and being respectful and supportive. Lisa is Lisa, and that in and of itself is kind of a challenge, which is why I don't follow [her] on social media." Lisa also believes that they have complementary personalities. The 62-year-old star said: "In our case, opposites attract. And we're good at allowing the other person to be who they are and do what they want."

Harry Hamlin Says Lisa Rinna Threatened To Kill Him While She Was Experiencing Postpartum Depression
This story contains discussion of mental health issues. You know celebrity couple Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna, separately and together, from a bunch of things — including Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. You probably also know that the pair share two children: Delilah Belle (who is currently 26), and 23-year-old Amelia Gray. During a recent episode of Lisa and Harry's Let's Not Talk About the Husband podcast, Lisa revealed that she struggled with postpartum depression following the birth of both of her children — and that she eventually had to ask for help to seek treatment. 'I had horrible postpartum depression, but I didn't know it,' Lisa said. 'I didn't know what it was, because, you know — when you have your first baby, you don't know." Harry then recalled an instance where 'We went to a movie one day in Bracebridge, and you said, 'I'm gonna kill you.'" After Lisa asked if that's what she really said, Harry replied, 'You said, 'You better watch out. I feel like killing you.' You said, 'Keep the knives in a drawer.'' 'I was having these horrible visions, it's true," Lisa replied. "I was having horrible hallucinations of killing people. And I needed to take the knives out of the house. And I also had horrible visions of driving the car into a brick wall.' Lisa also specified that she "did not have horrible visions about hurting the baby in any way, shape or was about hopelessness, darkest depression and these horrible visions, hallucinations. It was the knives and it was driving the car into the brick wall." Lisa and Harry then recalled how he urged her to call her OBGYN, who then prescribed antidepressants that took around three weeks to help her deal with postpartum depression. 'I was just absolutely hopeless,' Lisa added. 'I don't know how to describe it, because mine didn't manifest itself towards the baby at all. It was towards me. I would say looking back, I was completely psychotic.'

Lisa Rinna threatened to kill husband Harry Hamlin due to 'horrible' postpartum depression
Lisa Rinna's postpartum depression led her to threaten her own husband. Rinna and Harry Hamlin spoke about the reality TV star's experience with postpartum depression on an episode of their joint podcast. "I had horrible postpartum depression, but I didn't know it," the 61-year-old said on an episode of "Let's Not Talk About the Husband." "I didn't know what it was. When you have your first baby, you don't know. You just don't know." After giving birth to the couple's youngest daughter, Amelia Hamlin, in 2001, the postpartum depression returned. Rinna's second bout of postpartum depression left Hamlin worried after the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star threatened his life. "You said, 'I'm going to kill you,'" the actor recalled. "And I said, 'You better call [your OB-GYN] right now.' … You said, 'You better watch out. I feel like killing you.' You said, 'Keep the knives in the drawer.'" "You said, 'I'm going to kill you.'" The "Days of our Lives" star doesn't recall specifically threatening Hamlin but does remember the hallucinations she was having at the time. "I was having these horrible hallucinations of killing people, and I needed to take the knives out of the house," Rinna claimed. "And I also had horrible visions of driving a car into a brick wall." According to the Mayo Clinic, postpartum depression can lead to thoughts of harming yourself or your baby. However, Rinna experienced a different feeling. "I did not have horrible visions about hurting the baby in any way, shape or form. It wasn't about that," she explained. "It was about hopelessness, darkest depression and these horrible visions, hallucinations." Rinna was prescribed antidepressants that "worked instantly" and "changed the game." She first experienced postpartum depression after giving birth to the couple's oldest daughter, Delilah Hamlin, in 1998. "God, I was just hopeless," Rinna explained. "I was just absolutely hopeless. A huge dark cloud all over me. I don't know how to describe it because mine didn't manifest itself towards the baby at all. It was towards me. I would say, looking back, I was completely psychotic." Hamlin and "The Real Housewives" star got married in March 1997. The couple share two daughters; Delilah and Amelia. Despite having a lasting relationship, Hamlin previously revealed the two do not have much in common. "I have no idea why opposites attract, but we are completely and utterly opposite," he told Us Weekly. "But I love to cook, and she doesn't, so we all get fed up as a result of that. I have no interest in pop culture, and she does, so whatever I know about pop culture, I get from her." "As far as the science stuff goes, she's marginally into that, but she's very busy with all the things that she's doing."
