'It's nice to be able to have an event like this in Lethbridge,' said Kathy Hong, Sixth Street Block Party co-organizer. 'I think we see it a lot—we see it in big cities—where there's all these social activities happening or places outdoors for people to get together and things that are happening and we thought, 'Why can't we do this in Lethbridge?' 'So, we went ahead and started it and the feedback that we have received has been so fantastic—it's been beyond our dreams.' Because of its size, organizers are encouraging those attending to carpool, take public transit or walk. The block party runs from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
