Public invited to free celebration at Government House in Jersey for the King's official birthday
A free public event is being held at Jersey's Government House to celebrate the King's birthday.
Lieutenant-Governor Vice Admiral Jerry Kyd, the Monarch's official representative in the island, is hosting the annual get-together with his wife, Dr Karen Kyd.
The open invite encourages everyone to join them for a "colourful evening" with refreshments, live music, a 21-gun salute, a marching band, and a "special demonstration".
There is a smart dress code and those interested can just turn up as no tickets are needed.
The event, referred to in Jerriais as the Levée, runs from 7pm to 8:30pm on Friday 13 June.
As part of the celebrations, Vice Admiral Kyd will announce which Jersey residents have been recognised in The King's Birthday Honours List.
There is limited disabled parking on site, with the main car park in the field at St Saviour's Parish Church.
In Guernsey, a 21-gun salute will be performed from Castle Cornet at noon on Saturday 14 June, with the public invited to watch as Guernsey Museums offers free entry to all of its sites for the day.
Head of Heritage Services, Helen Glencross, adds: "We have activities and trails at all our sites and our brand-new activity space underneath the clock tower at Castle Cornet has just opened, why not come and take a look?"
