Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center holds Easter Egg Hunt
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — There are lots of Easter Egg hunts going on this Easter weekend and that includes the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center here in Sioux City. Around 70 kids showed up for the center's first ever Easter egg hunt. There were over 500 eggs spread throughout the property for kids to collect. There were also other activities like a coloring table and foam animals to play with. The hope is that it will also get kids interested in coming back to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. 'I hope the kids really get a chance to have a lot of fun, win a bunch of prizes and really connect with our center,' said Elizabeth Albright, the Education and Events Coordinator at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. 'I really want this space to be very special for kids to come and enjoy with their families. Each child received a gift bag of different goodies from the interpretive center. Sioux City's Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center to receive award
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Sioux City's Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center has been chosen to receive an Award of Excellence in Programming and Outreach/Audience Engagement. The award comes from the Iowa Museum Association, and comes due to the Center's 2024 summer outdoor performance series, the 'Spirit of Discovery Stage.' The series of events drew in more than 1000 guests. Siouxland communities declare snow emergencies ahead of expected blizzard According to a press release from the Iowa Museum Association, the recognition is meant to shine a spotlight on the Center's commitment to providing high-quality arts and humanities programs that the community can attend free of charge. In the press release, the Executive Director of the Iowa Museum Association praised the Interpretive Center. 'The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center's Spirit of Discovery Stage is a shining example of how museums can bring communities together through creative, inclusive programming,' she said. 'By offering free performances in an inviting outdoor space, the Center has made the arts and humanities more accessible to all, and we are proud to recognize their efforts with this award.'
