Over 100 librarians join Fun Run to kick off Consal 2025 in KL
KUALA LUMPUR: More than 100 librarians and information professionals, including participants from Asean countries, took part in the Librarians Fun Run 2025 yesterday in conjunction with the Congress of Southeast Asian Librarians Conference and Meeting (Consal) 2025. Librarians Fun Run 2025 Project Director Dr A'dillah Mustafa said the five-kilometre run, held around the Sungai Bunus area and Titiwangsa Lake Gardens here, saw the participation of 12 delegates from Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia. A'dillah, who is also a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Information Management, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Puncak Perdana, said the programme aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle. "In addition, it serves as a platform for librarians and information professionals from Southeast Asian countries to exchange fresh ideas in a more relaxed and open setting," she told Bernama at the Sungai Bunus Urban Farm here. Also present were Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Economic News Service Azlina Aziz and Bernama Senior Digital Library Manager Hasnita Ibrahim. Previously, National Library Director-General Edy Irwan Zulkafli said library professionals from all 10 Asean member countries would gather and deliberate over four days starting yesterday in Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the 19th Consal to share knowledge and strengthen regional cooperation.
