Illegal reflexology and massage operators in Selayang raided
A REFLEXOLOGY and massage centre in Jalan Sri Selayang, Selangor, was ordered to close after being found operating without a valid licence during a raid by authorities. The operation by Selayang Municipal Council (MPS), carried out at several areas in the municipality, also saw the operator fined RM1,000 under the Beauty and Healthcare Centres By-Laws (MPS) 2007. During the raid at Uptown Sri Gombak, authorities also took action against nine stall operators offering reflexology and body massage treatments, as well as employing foreign workers without approval. 'MPS confiscated business items including 27 recliner chairs, eight tents, six massage beds and 49 small stools,' it stated on its social media page. The operation, which was also carried out at the Selayang Hot Springs area, saw seven stalls operating without a licence fined for various offences. Action was taken under Licensing of Trades, Businesses and Industries By-Laws (MPS) 2007, Food Establishment Licensing By-Laws 2007 and Hawkers By-Laws 2007. 'MPS will continue to monitor and take legal action to ensure all business activities within the municipality comply with regulations,' the local council said. In Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) removed two illegal billboard structures during an integrated operation on May 20. DBKL, in a joint operation with the police and Tenaga Nasional Bhd, dismantled two billboards measuring 6.7m by 3.3m which were installed on road reserve land without approval. 'The owners of the billboard structures had been issued a notice on April 9 and a follow-up notice on May 16 to demolish and clear the site within the stipulated timeframe,' it said in a media statement. Action was taken under Section 70 of the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974. 'This decisive action is part of DBKL's ongoing efforts to improve the city's appearance and ensure that all developments and structures in Kuala Lumpur comply with existing regulations. 'It also supports the goal of reinforcing Kuala Lumpur's image as a well-organised city with strong governance and adherence to the law, especially as preparation for hosting the Asean Summit 2025. 'As the host city, Kuala Lumpur is committed to presenting itself as a well-managed and sustainable urban centre,' the statement added. The dismantled structures were sent to DBKL's Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department's storage facility in Jalan Cheras for documentation purposes. DBKL shuts down 4 brothels in Bukit Bintang

(DBKL pic) PETALING JAYA : Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) shut down four premises identified as prostitution dens in Bukit Bintang last night. In a Facebook post, DBKL said the premises were identified following several days of surveillance in the area. 'The internal structure, believed to have been built with special rooms for prostitution activities, has been demolished. 'All items related to prostitution activities were seized and transported to the seizure depot at Jalan Lombong, Cheras, for recording and documentation purposes,' it said. DBKL said it also issued four compound notices under the Licensing of Trades, Businesses and Industries By-Laws (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) 2016. It said further enforcement and monitoring will continue at the identified hotspots, and encouraged the public to report information they may have through the official channels.

City Hall raids, shutters 4 prostitution dens in Bukit Bintang
KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall has closed down and dismantled four prostitution dens in an operation in Bukit Bintang here last night. In a posting on its official Facebook page, it said enforcement action on the four premises allegedly offering sexual services were taken following several days of surveillance. "As a result of the surveillance, four premises were identified to be involved in prostitution and we have sealed off those premises under the Local Government Act 1976," said City Hall in the posting. It said officers also demolished interior structures, including partitions that created private spaces for illicit services. "Four compound notices were also issued under the Licensing of Trades, Businesses and Industries (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) By-Laws 2016 to owners of the four premises," it said. City Hall officers also seized sex paranaphelia, such as lubricants and condoms, found in the raids. "The seized items have been taken to the storage facility at Jalan Lombong, Taman Miharja, Cheras, for documentation and record-keeping," it said. Photos of the enforcement operation, showing City Hall personnel dismantling structures and removing equipment, were also shared in the same post. "City Hall will continue to carry out enforcement and monitoring from time to time at identified hotspot areas." The post ended by encouraging members of the public to channel complaints or tip-offs on illicit activities through City Hall's official communication channels.

Blitz continues against illegal businesses run by foreigners in KL
KUALA Lumpur City Hall has carried out 1,066 enforcement operations against illegal businesses run by foreign traders since January. DBKL enforcement department director Mohd Muzammer Jamaluddin said that a recent operation in Brickfields resulted in action against eight premises. 'Of the eight, four premises were ordered to close immediately under the Licensing of Trades, Businesses and Industries (WPKL) by-laws 2016 and Food Act 1983," he said in a video post on DBKL's official social media page. Mohd Muzammer added that DBKL issued seven notices for various offences under the Local Government Act 1976 and Licensing of Trades by-laws. The KL Strike Force joint operation was carried out together with the Immigration Department and the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry. Hazirudin Ahmad Tadjudin, from the department, added that foreign hawkers not only operate without a licence, but also do so without hygiene control. 'This is not a seasonal operation, as claimed by some parties, but a continuous one." He added that hotspot areas such as Jalan Silang, Chow Kit, Pasar Borong Selayang and Brickfields are monitored. Meanwhile, a separate operation against unlicensed hawkers in Jalan Leboh Pudu, Jalan Tun Tan Siew Sin, Jalan Petaling and Jalan Sultan saw 13 seizure actions carried out. DBKL said enforcement was taken under the Licensing of Hawkers By-Laws (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) 2016. All items seized during these operations were sent to DBKL storage in Taman Miharja, Cheras, for documentation purposes.
