Emma Stone's 1 Red Carpet Fashion Regret
Everybody has their own fashion regrets — even Emma Stone. The acclaimed actor recently sat down for Vogue's Life in Looks series to take a spin through her sartorial past — and, as it turns out, there's one specific red carpet look that she wishes she did way differently. The look in question? This styling that she donned for the 2011 Critics' Choice Awards — but, in case you were thinking to yourself, "That dress is nice, though!", it's not because of the dress. Specifically, Emma wishes she hadn't had gone so hard on the spray-tan side of things. 'I'm from Arizona, and I don't have any pigment in my skin, so growing up, I was really obsessed with the idea of being tan,' she said. 'I thought, if you were dressing up and if you wanna look great, you should get a really, really dark spray tan." "My hands…look like I'm wearing gloves because [the spray tan] it's not on my hands. I love this dress. I felt so great in it, so great that I had to get a spray tan to really enhance how great I felt.' Emma also referenced her look at the 2011 Golden Globes as a similar example of the tan-tastrophe she was experiencing around this time. 'I looked like one solid thumb, and that dress is so pretty. Why did I decide to match my skin tone to the dress?' she asked rhetorically. Hey, it was the early 2010s. We're all older and wiser now! Watch the entire video here.

Emma Stone Says Working With Ex-Boyfriend Andrew Garfield Was a 'Special Time'
THE RUNDOWN On Thursday, Emma Stone offered some rare comments on her former relationship with actor Andrew Garfield, who she met on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man. The pair dated for about four years beginning in 2011 and seemingly remain good friends. Stone shared insight into their connection during her Vogue's Life in Looks interview, looking at former ensembles and reflecting on where she was in life during that time. In the Spider-Man films, Stone played Gwen Stacy, the love interest of Garfield's character, Peter Parker, otherwise known as Spider-Man. One photo presented to Stone was from the 2014 London premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, in which she is wearing a bright yellow Versace dress. After seeing the outfit, Stone said, 'I mean, I really loved doing Spider-Man. I loved everyone I worked with. I met Andrew there. I met Sally Field and Marc Webb was wonderful. It was really a special time in my life.' She continued, 'The recurring theme is the people, more than kind of like the film itself, is what sticks with me for so long. And so I have only like the fondest memories of this whole experience.' She did add that the press tours were not her favorite part of doing the movies. 'I don't really know how people do it,' she said. 'I remember it being like nine countries in maybe two weeks, and you're functioning in a state of jet lag never previously known to you. I felt truly psychotic the entire time.' Garfield has also talked warmly about Stone and his time as Spider-Man, telling Variety in 2021, 'It was only beautiful. I got to meet Emma [Stone] and work with her and Sally Field.' In Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast in 2022, Garfield also talked about how Stone guessed he would make a surprise appearance in the Tom Holland-led film, Spider-Man: No Way Home. 'Emma kept on texting me. She was like, 'Are you in this new 'Spider-Man' film?' And I was like, 'I don't know what you're talking about!' Garfield claimed. 'She was like, 'Shut up, just tell me,' And like, I honestly… I kept it going, even with her, it's hilarious. And then she saw it and was like, 'You're a jerk!'' Garfield is currently dating Monica Barbaro and Stone went on to marry husband Dave McCary.

Cate Blanchett wasn't allowed to wear T-shirt under Armani dress
Cate Blanchett wasn't allowed to wear a T-shirt underneath a black Armani Privé gown. The Australian actress hit the red carpet at the 2023 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards wearing a black sequin dress with a black lace neckline. Blanchett often re-wears her red carpet dresses and thinks of new ways to put a fresh spin on an old look, but designer Giorgio Armani did not support her idea to switch the black lace with a T-shirt for the gown's next outing. "I wanted to wear it with a T-shirt but Mr. Armani wouldn't let me. You gotta respect the maestro, right?" she said in Vogue's Life in Looks video series. With the 2023 awards look, the Oscar-winning actress reached out to the Armani Privé team and asked if she could use black lace instead of the original material. She suggested re-purposing the lace left over from a dress she wore to the 2014 Golden Globes. "I said, 'Look, I know there's this leftover lace from the dress that I'd worn to the Globes all those years before.' They found an offcut and so they made the internal corset out of that offcut," Blanchett explained. The Carol star noted that some people were shocked when she re-wore her 2014 Globes dress to the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival in 2018. "I remember people saying to my publicist, (in hushed tones), 'Oh, Cate's wearing... she's worn that dress before.' As if I didn't know. 'Oh really?' I was so pleased to wear it again because I'd loved it so much," she continued. "When you have something so beautiful like that, it's a crime to wear it once."
