Cardi B celebrated Taylor Swift's album releasing after hers with perfect meme
Taylor Swift has been the talk of the town since Monday, surprise-announcing her next studio album. The Life of A Showgirl, her 12th record, will release on October 3. The album, which is produced by the iconic Max Martin and Shellback, is going to have a strong pop vibe and will be more upbeat than 2024's The Tortured Poets Department.
Swift always dominates the charts when her albums drop, so some other artists might not want to try and go against the behemoth that is Taylor Swift. Her The Tortured Poets Department had a record-breaking 300 million streams in one day on Spotify, the first to hit that milestone. It had 799 million streams in a week, also a record. You get the idea.
Apparently rapper Cardi B is among that group, which is totally understandable and relatable. The Bronx native has her second studio album, Am I The Drama? releasing on September 19 of this year, and she took to social media to hilariously exclaim her relief that her music will release a couple weeks before Swift's.
In the tweet, Cardi B quoted Swift's post that included the release date and added two excellent memes. The first was the relieved Sponge Bob meme, while the second featured Regina Hall from Scary Movie reacting with excitement.
A truly wonderful post from Cardi B. Well done.
