Hair dyes, male performance enhancement oils worth 1cr seized

andhinagar: The state's Food and Drug Control Administration (FDCA) has seized duplicate cosmetics worth Rs 1 crore in raids conducted across Surat, Keshod, and Gandhinagar.
The operations uncovered widespread manufacturing and online sale of counterfeit products.
According to FDCA commissioner H G Koshia, a large quantity of packaging material and counterfeit products for online sale was found at the Surat residence of Rajesh Lathiya. Lathiya was found producing various "male performance enhancement" oils like Stamina Energy Oil, Lift Up Herba Massage Oil and Bull Massage Oil for Men, using misleading labels and operating without a licence.
These products, along with packaging materials and online delivery boxes, were intended for online sale, primarily on platforms like Meesho, and were advertised on Instagram, read FDCA statement .
This raid alone yielded fake products and materials valued at Rs 55 lakh.
In Gandhinagar's Pethapur, Pradipsinh Solanki of Dulhan Enterprise was caught duplicating branded products Zeba Zulf-E-Henna and Hair Colour Natural Black, copying brands from Excell Impex Gujarat Pvt Ltd and Yutvika Natural Pvt Ltd.
Products worth Rs 30 lakh were seized in the raid. The statement said that Solanki sourced packaging and printing materials from Shlok Industry, Naroda, Ahmedabad, without maintaining any bills or records.
The investigation also expanded to Keshod, where one Kuldip Patoliya was found manufacturing duplicate cosmetics in partnership with the Surat operation, selling through Meesho platform. FDCA teams confiscated products worth Rs 55 lakh and sent 14 samples for laboratory analysis.
Additionally, the FDCA received information about Kaishik Radadiya of Wrixty Ayurveda in Surat selling counterfeit cosmetics with fake licence numbers online. A raid on his location revealed the individuals were producing products at home using labels and materials sourced from agents in markets like Mumbai's Crawford Market. About Rs 15 lakh worth of goods were seized for further action, the statement said.
