June is 'concert season' in Nashville. Festivals, rock shows and Willie Nelson are among our top picks
The month of June in Nashville could be considered "concert season." Between the amphitheaters being open for the summer season and two of the area's biggest festivals happening this month, it's easy to check dozens of performers, from newcomers to legends, off the bucket list — in some cases with one ticket. Here are our top picks for June's live music scene: Wanna see Tigirlily Gold, Shaboozey, Kameron Marlowe, Parker McCollum, Cody Johnson, Kelsea Ballerini and Keith Urban? You don't have to pick one. You can see them all during CMA Fest. This lineup is just from one of the show-packed days of the fest which takes place all across downtown Nashville and features both up-and-coming country acts as well as some of the genre's biggest names on big and more intimate stages. The fest ends each night with a massive lineup inside Nissan Stadium. Tickets: Grammy Award-winner rapper Lil Baby brings his WHAM World Tour to Nashville's Bridgestone Arena with BigXthaPlug and Loe Shimmy. Lil Baby has sold 30 million albums and has 47 RIAA-certified platinum records, 45 RIAA-certified gold records, and over 75 billion global streams. Expect the night to be full of energy with moments of on-stage collabs and maybe even a surprise guest or two. With The Gaslight Anthem opening, the night promises to be an excellent live rock show. With four days of music ranging from Olivia Rodrigo to Luke Combs, Goose, Avril Levigne, Red Clay Strays and Glorilla, there's something for everyone who loves live music. The festival offers single-day and multi-day tickets with varying ranges of VIP experiences available. Tickets: Riley Green and Ella Langley emerged with one of the songs you can't get out of your head in 2025: "You Look Like You Love Me," which took home Single and Music Event of the Year at this year's ACM Awards. Green is headlining the show along with Langley, Lauren Watkins and Preston Cooper, which should make for a fun show at a great outdoor venue. Drake says OVO Fest is returning this summer
Drake performs during Lil Baby's Birthday Party at State Farm Arena on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2022, in Atlanta. OVO Fest will be back this summer, according to Drake. The Toronto superstar made the announcement during a surprise guest appearance at British rapper Central Cee's concert on May 24. Central Cee was performing at History—a live music venue in the Beaches neighbourhood, part-owned by Drake—and the Toronto rapper was sitting in a VIP section on one of the balconies when he surprised the crowd. In videos posted to social media, Drake can be seen with a mic in hand before he starts performing his song 'Nokia.' After the performance, he spoke to the crowd for several minutes. 'Thank you for having me, you know I love you all and I'll see you this summer, by the way,' Drake can be heard saying on video. 'I haven't had a chance to say this yet, but OVO Fest is back this year, so we'll need [Central Cee] there for that.' Typically held in August to coincide with Toronto's Caribbean Carnival and featuring a star-studded lineup usually filled with surprise guests, Drake hasn't held OVO Fest since 2022. That edition saw rappers Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj hit the stage, as well as a number of Canadian artists including Kardinal Offishall, Shawn Desman, and Nelly Furtado. No other details about this summer's OVO Fest have been released.

Drake Breaks His Tie With Taylor Swift For Good With Another Almost-No. 1
Drake's 'Nokia' falls to No. 4 on the Hot 100, making it his record-breaking 11th single to peak at ... More No. 2 without hitting the top spot. (Photo by) Drake is far and away one of the most successful musicians in the history of the Hot 100. When it comes to Billboard's ranking of the most popular songs in America, he claims multiple records — though not every single one of them just yet. Also, not all of the honors and milestones he's reached are wholly impressive, or even ones he'd want. As the Canadian rapper's current smash "Nokia" drops from No. 2 to No. 4 on the Hot 100, it looks like the tune may be forced to settle for a second place peak. Drake was clearly hoping to send it to No. 1 and score a historic champion, but it doesn't seem like that's in the cards. It's still a huge hit, of course, but a little bit disappointing. Now, "Nokia" joins a roundup of Drake's runners-up. He has seen 11 different songs peak at No. 2 on the Hot 100. That's frustrating – to come so close to reaching the summit and miss out by just one space is annoying. Sometimes he's done with solo tracks, and in other instances, he's peaked at No. 2 with collaborations. Drake has seen all of the following 11 tracks peak at No. 2 on the Hot 100: "Best I Ever Had," "Hotline Bling," "Nonstop," "Life Is Good," "Laugh Now, Cry Later," "Wants and Needs" with Lil Baby, "Girls Want Girls" featuring Lil Baby, "Rich Flex" with 21 Savage, "Search & Rescue," "IDGAF" with Yeat, and now "Nokia." With "Nokia" seemingly locked out of the top spot, Drake officially surpasses Taylor Swift for the distinction of claiming the most No. 2-peaking songs on the Hot 100. Before "Nokia" arrived, the two stars were tied with such wins 10 apiece. Drake first saw a smash rise to the runner-up spot on the Hot 100 without climbing any higher back in 2009, when he was just launching his career. "Best I Ever Had" was his breakout success, and it nearly earned him a No. 1. It would be more than half a decade before another cut did the same, when "Hotline Bling" failed to reach the summit, in part because of its limited availability in some forms on streaming platforms, as at the time, Drake was working with Apple Music to help the company break into the competitive space. While he didn't score a new leader this time around, Drake already claims the fourth-most No. 1 hits in the history of the Hot 100. He's tied with Michael Jackson, with 13 champions each. One more leader would have helped him break that tie and form another with Rihanna, who has already claimed 14. The Beatles are still in first place with 20 No. 1s, followed by Mariah Carey with 19. Looking at his full discography, Drake has reached the top 10 with 80 hits — by far the most among all artists. He has sent a total of 358 songs to the Hot 100, which is another record and one that may never be matched.

Quavo Releases Posthumous Collab With Takeoff, ‘Dope Boy Phone'
Quavo might be making a call to heaven with his 'Dope Boy Phone.' On Friday, the rapper released the new song, featuring his late cousin and Migos groupmate, Takeoff, which is set to be featured on his upcoming solo album. 'Dope boy clone/Lookin' for a dope boy loan,' raps Takeoff in his verse. 'Lurkin' in a dope boy zone/I fucked around and found a dope boy phone/Fuck it, my n—a, we gone.' Quavo previously said in 2023 that the late rapper had around 1,000 unreleased tracks between eight different phones. Although it's unclear if they'll ever be released, there have been talks about a posthumous album. 'I want to keep his stuff very, very, very sacred right now,' Quavo told Rolling Stone that year. 'Something about Take's verses right now is just like so ahead of his time. Every time, it's like he just did it.' Following his death in November 2022 after being shot outside of a Texas bowling alley, the rapper has also been featured on 'Patty Cake' and 'Back Where It Begins' from Quavo's 2023 album Rocket Power, which was dedicated to the rapper's memory.
