PICS: Dog tries to grab last treat, gets head stuck
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Wisconsin police officers rescued a dog who was just looking to grab the last treat in a container. Photos by the Whitefish Bay Police Department showed a dog named Lil Murphy was attempting to obtain the last Milk Bone treat, but got its head stuck while trying to grab it. When Lil Murphy's owners were unsuccessful at getting the container off, they tried to go to their veterinarian's office, but is was closed. The owners decided to head to WBPD to get the job done. Whitefish Bay police rescued a dog Feb. 17 after he spent more than an hour with his head stuck in a plastic Milk-Bone container. Police said in a Facebook post Wednesday that the dog, named Lil Murphy, was trying to retrieve the last treat from the container but then couldn't get his head out. Lil Murphy's owners tried to get the container off his head for over an hour before bringing him to the vet. But the vet's office was closed, so they brought him to the Whitefish Bay police station. The police department used a pair of scissors to cut the dog free. In a bodycam video, Lil Murphy can be seen breathing hard as the officers set him free. Once the rest of the container is off of him, the dog shakes off and wiggles his tail. One of the humans helping him exclaims, "Yay, we did it!" Whitefish Bay police certainly turned a "ruff day" into a memorable story. 'Ruff day': Watch Wisconsin police free dog whose head got stuck in treat container
A dog in Wisconsin had a "ruff day" this week after his head got stuck in a plastic Milk-Bone container for over an hour, police said. The pup, named "Lil Murphy," was attempting to get the last treat in the container but then he couldn't get his head out, Whitefish Bay police said in a Facebook post on Wednesday. Lil Murphy's owners tried getting the container off his head, but after an hour of unsuccessful attempts, they decided to drive him to the vet, according to police. Once they realized the vet was closed, they stopped by the police station for help, Whitefish Bay police said.
