PICS: Dog tries to grab last treat, gets head stuck

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Wisconsin police officers rescued a dog who was just looking to grab the last treat in a container.
Photos by the Whitefish Bay Police Department showed a dog named Lil Murphy was attempting to obtain the last Milk Bone treat, but got its head stuck while trying to grab it.
When Lil Murphy's owners were unsuccessful at getting the container off, they tried to go to their veterinarian's office, but is was closed. The owners decided to head to WBPD to get the job done.
'Officers Potthast and Streeter did a paw-esome job of cutting him loose to freedom,' said the post.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Two vehicles collided and hit a third vehicle in Champaign County Wednesday. The Ohio State Highway Patrol Springfield Post is investigating a crash that was reported around 1:30 p.m. around the area of East Kanagy Road and Ludlow Road in Salem Township. Funeral services held for Morrow County deputy fatally shot on Memorial Day Investigation revealed a 1999 Ford Ranger was traveling southbound on Ludlow Road when a 2017 International MA025 truck traveling westbound on Kanagy Road failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The vehicles collided and traveled off the side of the road, where the MA025 truck overturned. The Ford Ranger struck an unoccupied 2016 Cadillac SRX that was parked on private property. The Ford Ranger driver was transported to Miami Valley Hospital via CareFlight for a serious, non-life-threatening injury, according to OSP. DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A former Bellefontaine officer was in a Logan County court Wednesday on firearm and OVI charges. Bellefontaine Police Sgt. Bradley Staley faces charges of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a felony of the fifth degree, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence (OVI), a misdemeanor of the first degree. Staley appeared before Judge Kevin P. Braig in the Logan County Court of Common Pleas. The judge granted Staley recognizance bond, ordered him to keep in contact with lawyer Madison Mackay and submit to pre-trial drug/alcohol testing. Staley pleaded not guilty to the charges. He moved the court for admission to the intervention instead of the conviction program. He was ordered by the court to appear for a pre-sentence investigation interview. Child critically injured in suspected OVI crash Tuesday night

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A 5-year-old child is hospitalized in critical condition after a suspected OVI crash at the intersection of South Main and East Stewart streets. According to the Dayton Police Department, crews were dispatched to an injury crash around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 3. Police say their initial investigation found that a Ford F-150 Tremor was heading south on Main Street. Officials said the driver ran a red light and then crashed into the rear driver's side of a Honda Odyssey heading east on Stewart Street. Officials said the F-150 then crashed into a Toyota RAV4, which was approaching the stoplight north on Main Street. Man injured in shooting at DeSoto Bass apartments on Monday The Odyssey had two occupants besides the driver: a 9-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl. All were taken by medics to nearby hospitals. As of Wednesday, the girl is currently in critical condition. The other two people have non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the F-150 was the only person in the vehicle and wasn't taken to a hospital. None of the three people in the RAV4 were hospitalized. Officials suspect the cause of the crash is OVI. Detectives from the Dayton Police Department's Traffic Services Unit are actively investigating the crash. 2 NEWS will update this article when more information is available.
